seriously, at what point do elite sportspersons and the governing body need to treat this for what it is, a ramped up (but dangerous to some) cold, "covid" will be with us forever now, literally forever, we need at some point to return to a version of normal, we cant be halting all of our lives for this for the rest of our lives.

im entirely for vaccinating the at risk, but wider society needs to return to some normality, sooner rather than later.

Only vaccinate the 'at risk'!

They can still take simple precautions like monitoring air quality in dressing rooms, using wide open rooms for video sessions etc. Maybe they are doing things like that and we get away with only one or two cases,  hopefully so and hopefully asymptomatic ones at that.

With the problem that you can test negative while its brewing to good enough levels to show but still pass it on.

I imagine with the transmisability every squad is going to have a problem.

If some of the positive cases were on the coach yesterday, there is every chance it could turn into an outbreak though?

The positive case (singular) wasn’t in the match day squad. You are right though, could obviously be transmitted through other means and become an “outbreak” sadly

Athletes and sporting governing bodies don't make the rules during a public health crisis, nor should they.

Lets stop the arguing between those that take the pandemic serious and those who don't and our opinions of what's going on with it and just simply speak about how this may impact our football club in the near term.

Hopefully the first teamer that tested positive is not one of our more impactful/important players, hopefully it's isolated to that individual and we can continue along.  I'll be anxiously awaiting news tomorrow.

Fair. I assume we’ll have everyone isolated a day or two just in case to stop the spread while they can test.

Ok that leaves - Bailey, Davis, Traore and youth players such as Bidace and Archer.

Our season last year was destroyed by it so you would think lessons would be learned. It is an airborne virus which transmission can be avoided through proper mask wearing (FFP2/K95) and ventilation measures indoors especially when together as a group.

Thanks, shame we didn't have you at no10 last year, this would have been all over by now.
