guess we'll know who tomorrow. there's not many positions where i'd have real concerns. probably just martinez and cash really. and the former has been around family playing with his kids etc on his instagram so i'm quite confident he's not one of them.

according to ash preece, tuanzebe, davis, watkins and buendia all trained today

Young can play rb.

Losing Martinez is about as bad as it could get.

Shame Heaton went for a final payday instead of staying, not that I blame him.

Axel or Hause I think can do ok, as the drop off in quality is less.

Is there any actual news on that or just this guy saying so.

No official news or anything remotely concrete, but recently whenever there have been bad injury/illness rumours they've almost always been true, so understand the reaction.

Ok but the other guy was saying the player wasn't in the match day squad so both Konsa and Martinez seems unlikely.

Maybe there were two extra positive cases in addition to the original? I honestly don't know.

How come we can't be told if someone's got covid due to patient confidentiality,  but we can know Nakamba has injured his knee, has gone for a scan, it's not good and is off to a specialist on Tuesday?

I think it’s more likely kept under wraps because it would give our opposition a big advantage if they knew which of our players were out missing.

Erm, so why tell them about Nakamba? It's legitimately about confidentiality,  if the players don't want their family/ friends knowing they've got covid (believe me, some weird people out there and it happens), then the club can't say anything. An injury to nakamba doesn't affect anyone else so he's probably OK with them announcing it.

I assumed the Nakamba story is just a cover for covid anyway.   The timeframe they've given is exactly aligned with 10 days Isolation for covid.  And it means when he's missing from the matchday squad noone will immediately go "he was one who had covid...".

I really hope it is Nakamba because I've already "priced in" him being out due to this injury.

Rumours seem to suggest that although Gerrard said he won't be back this side of Christmas...it is likely to be longer than that. Guess we'll see.

i guess you register a positive covid test with the NHS. i doubt football injuries go on your NHS medical history

Given AFCON starts early Jan he’ll pretty much be unavailable either way I guess.
