It now doesn't seem to matter who he plays, the result is just the same. Existing players seem to have gone backwards. New signings with big reputations don't look impressive. It's all just wrong. But what was really really bugging me today was the all round attitude. We were at home against the team bottom of the table who have lost all their games this season. Our next few games are very very tough and we're unlikely to get any kind of result. It was therefore really really important that we won this game. I would therefore expect to see some level of urgency from them. See them right at it and motivated. See a lot of hussle and endeavour. What we got however was a home game (once again) played at virtual walking pace for large periods. Martinez in no rush to take goal kicks, just strolling slowly to pick up the ball and in no rush to take the kick. Players walking in slow motion to pick up the ball for throw ins, never looking for a quick throw. No quick free kicks, take your time then pass it back. Lots of passing the ball to and fro with no great intent to take the game to the opposition. We actually play the game a lot of the time like we're winning and seeing out the last few minutes. The whole attitude is wrong and that has to come from the top. He should be giving them the hairdryer treatment. He should be agitated on the touchline.
