And if I'm a betting man I would suggest by the end of the summer transfer window there will be another team we can realistically not compete with and thus our chances of European football are even further away again. If an opportunistic deal comes available, I'm sure we'd move on it. This has been a brilliant window for us and anyone that says otherwise is talking rubbish. Someone put this on here the other day but over the last 2 windows we've bought: Coutinho, Digne, Leon Bailey, Danny Ings, Emi Buendia and more. We needed a LB to challenge Targett at the start of the window, and now we're back down to just having 1 first team LB in the squad. It happened quickly and this details it happening over the course of 3 days. He also started to cover the AEG move to them. Just because someone didn't come out and say 'this is 100% happening' on day 1 doesn't mean he was wrong. I can't without googling. Probably youth players Yes I can. Tsimikas is the backup LB, who has had to cover for when Robertson has been injured. RB is Neco Williams, who is a good young prospect. Gerrard wanted 2 players for each position, I'm just not sure who the 2nd player will be for LB. Maybe Young, I don't know. It's just an odd one for me.
