Think he sealed his departure with two no-pressure passes out of play, one in each leg.

Type of thing I imagine Unai never forgets.

We would have no players left if we sold them because of 2 misplaced passes!

Thank you. Anyone can misplace a pass, as long as he's not doing it every game, it's incredibly harsh to judge him on it.

To play the way Unai wants, players need to be brave on the ball, you see Richards doing that, Tim less so in the few minutes we have seen

Richards?

I think he could do a job for a decent League 1 team, like Huddersfield or Charlton for example. He has a physical presence that would be useful at that level. That's where I think he will go this summer. That kind of club.

He was shining in The Championship at the start of last season (I think). There’s no way he’ll drop to League One imo.

He obviously means Micah, do you really need to ask?

I see no evidence of this. Dendonker was given minutes and started games. If he was with us, I'm convinced he'd have got more playing time than Tim.

He played 119 minutes in the league for us this season. He wasn’t fancied at all. There is a reason we got rid.

i dont think he was seen as a starter obviously, but i think he was more trusted from the bench. Dendonker would have played more minutes than Tim if he had stayed. I dont think Unai really wants either of them.

It’s fairly obvious Tim has no meaningful future at VP otherwise he would have been asked to make some kind of meaningful contribution since Kamara’s injury. Seems like a good kid so hopefully he gets a good move and we get some money.

I thought he was okay in the first game and has been decent in pretty much all of his appearances - he had one to forget last night though, poor.

Which is a pity as we might need him to start on Monday night.

To offer a different point of view, I think he’s looked awful in the majority of his appearances for Villa.

Tim hasn’t looked at the required level for me as yet, but I’m obviously still willing to give him a good amount of time yet before judging him completely.

I think it is worth remembering that as we continue to improve as a team, it is going to become harder and harder for youth players to establish themselves in our side due to the level of performance required, only the absolute best will make it.

I think he will be given another 12 months at least, but also wouldn’t be surprised if he’s moved on this summer in a similar deal to the one that saw us sell 3 youngsters last summer.

Wasting his time if he decides to hang around for another season. If he can't get regular minutes when we loaned Donk out, lost Kamara in early Feb for the season and since then had Tielemans, McGinn and Luiz all out for a few weeks then I can't see how he gets a serious chance next season as we will surely sign another midfielder in the summer once Sanson and Donk's wages are off the books.

He's still young, so wouldn't be averse to a loan (or sale buy back deal) to a top half Championship team like Norwich / Coventry / Hull

He's only played four games worth of football for our first team, so of course he hasn't looked particularly great, most youngsters don't when they first come into the senior set-up, as they need game time to get up to speed and to gain the confidence to play their own game rather than playing it safe, we had all this with Ramsey and Chukwuemeka when they first started playing for our first team

The funny thing is when Chukwuemeka was looking likely to leave a lot of people were commenting that they weren't that impressed with him, and were using Iroegbunam as an example of a youngster that they were impressed with in his few brief appearances at that time, was that really so, or was it just being said as a means to be critical of Chukwuemeka

I don't read anything into him not getting more game time owing to Dendoncker and Kamara absences either, for the simple fact he's not a DM in the same sense as those players, and even if he was, it would be a big ask to ask any inexperienced youngster to step up to that role, especially given all we have to play for, most managers wouldn't risk it, unless the young midfielder was some sort of generational talent who could be trusted to come into one of the most important roles on the pitch and do a good job without mistakes

More can perhaps read into him not getting more game time when the likes of Tielemans, Luiz, and McGinn have been unavailable

I have a feeling we might be undecided on him, I wouldn't be surprised to see him loaned out next season, put him in a decent Championship team, and I'd be very confident that come next summer we would have a more vaulable asset on our hands, either to sell, or if he really impresses to come back to us, and I think that's true for a number of our youngsters, see also Kesler-Hayden, Bogarde, and Barry; Azaz was a good example, last summer was worth a couple of hundred thousand, half a decent season in the Championship and we got a couple of million for him, if he had more time on his contract we might have got more than that

But of course man with FFP we might have to sell some of them

Not really, Callum Chambers is a specialist defender, and we're trying not to concede anymore goals, also we can't afford any more mistakes, so of course an experienced player is going to come on ahead of player who has only played four games worth of football for us. There's a good chance he will be playing for someone else next season, either on loan or sold with a buyback, but Chambers coming on ahead of him in this game in of itself doesn't tell us anything

Agree to disagree. We've barely used Chambers too. Tim has been given the opportunity when substitutes have been brought on. Tim is a specialist midfielder, Chambers isn't.

Iroegbunam isn't a DM, not sure how many times that needs pointing out, Chambers has played an whole season as a DM for Fulham, he's also a specialist defensive player, we obviously didn't bring him on to help our attack, it makes infinite sense to bring Chambers on in a game like this with the scoreline as it is over Iroegbunam

Edit: And again not saying Iroegbunam likely to be part of our plans next season, just that Chambers coming on in this game ahead of him isn't evidence of it by itself in isloation. I think he will probably be sold with buyback or loaned out next season
