Surely Azaz should be recalled to go to a higher level?

There was something off about the transfer from the beginning, he'd been moved on loan before he'd even formerly signed for us and the manager at Newport at the time said something along the lines of "we're greatful to Aston Villa for helping us get Finn signed"

I thought at the time maybe it was "you scratch my back I'll scratch yours" situation bit I don't know what we'd gain from doing it

Apparently Bridge has returned to England for treatment on a knee injury that's been troubling him since last season. His loan with FC Annecy hasn't been cancelled yet, but it's been reported in France that it's expected that it will be. 'Rentré dans son club au moment de la trêve hivernale, pour faire un point avec le staff médical d’Aston Villa, il n’est jamais revenu au FCA même si les contacts n’ont jamais été rompus. Mais, finalement, selon nos informations, son prêt devrait être rompu.' Le Dauphiné libéré

Isnt he out of contract in the summer

You are 100% correct (at least according to transfermarkt). Sometimes players in the youth ranks can have options taken up or contracts extended without an announcement so I guess we'll see come the end of the season.

Mungo Bridge has returned to Aston Villa following his loan spell at FC Annecy.

The 21-year-old defender made two appearances for the French side in the Championnat National after joining on loan in August.

Bridge made his first-team debut for Aston Villa in last season’s FA Cup third-round tie against Liverpool.

Swindon's two top scorers are McKirdy and Simpson both with eleven goals, and both been playing well by all accounts, only problem is is that Simpson was on loan from Ipswich and has been recalled. So should mean Barry getting game time.

Hirdy McKirdy! Haven't thought about him for years.

Siwndon signed a striker called Davison on loan from Charlton a couple of days ago - hopefully we can avoid the same situation as we had at Ipswich where a team desperate for forwards take Barry but also end up with another couple more from elsewhere.

Tbf even if Barry is getting 20/30 senior minutes a game it'll be a help for his development - I think we'd prefer him to be starting but it wouldn't be such a bad eventuality, I think.

Competition for places is one thing, it's to be expected, but the situation at Ipswich was ridiculous, they loaned Barry off us and then went and signed Kyle Edwards and Aluko, two players proven at championship level, and also Celina a player who had been playing regulary in Ligue 1 last season, they also signed Pigott who was expected to move to the championship. He will have nowhere near that level of competition to get into the Swindon team, even if they manage to get Simpson back.

Whether he's starting games for them, or getting twenty minutes here and there, it will be good for his development, and they also play good football which should also help him.
