Highlights, interviews, full replays of all our home mens first team games, all the under 23's games and the U18 FA Cup games.

Club are charging to watch the pre-season games...

VillaTV is the only place you can watch live coverage of all five Aston Villa pre-season fixtures this summer!

AVFC

I think they're taking the piss with the pricing.

In a good way or bad way. seems reasonable for 23 games in Canada?

I was talking about £5 per game to watch on essentially a posh stream.

These are not competitive games, they are pre season games which were always shown for free before.  I speak as someone who paid for those ppv games at the start of last season and also for the league Cup games.  I don't think you should pay to watch friendlies.

When you see £35 for something you've never paid for before, it looks that way - but when you think about it, if you're putting in that £35 you're getting five pre-seaosn friendlies, fourteen U23 games and at least one FA Youth Cup game - it's a minimum of twenty games for £35 and access to full 90 minute re-runs of all our home games.

I'd like to have seen it linked to season tickets and memberships so that season ticket holders got it for less or where you could bundle a membership and get the whole thing and a membership for say £45 - I'd really like to have seen it linked to Pride reward points so that each thousand points would get you a fiver off; those points don't seem to be linked to a lot.

But....it's not, and that's the world we're living in - there's never ever been the demand there is today to see this team play; we just sold almost 4,000 tickets for an away friendly in 40 minutes and we have a friendly at Villa Park coming up that's likely to be a full house and might not make general sale - the days of it being easy to see games are gone. The club could be selling us season tickets for £150 more than they're charging - those would still sell out. They're not doing that, but they are perhaps maximising some income on their internal media content, with one eye on a future where that will feature very heavily.

So yeah, at first sight it might cause a wrinkle or two on the old brow, but this is the future of football and football revenue and the ability to see Villa play is no longer something that can be taken for granted.

How many people will pay this vs the loss of interest it causes.

I have my season ticket. I buy shirts every year. I do enjoy watching the pre season games and the U23s when I had the time previously.

I refuse to pay money to watch pre season games and it just makes me less and less interested in the club when they shut access like this by charging.

I think it's the pits personally.

£50 for a dead rubber against Chelsea and now this. It's poor.

have we really only got 2 friendlies left before the season starts?

only 3 friendlies in total.......seems rather low.....

How many did we have last season? (edit: looks like it was 4)

when a chap from a pub that we frequented noticed us, as he was being escorted out of the stand and past past the back of the goal by a couple of policemen. In the process, he smiled and waved at us, which led to every Rangers fan looking back to see who he was waving at, naturally we both did the same.

:crylaugh::crylaugh: Absolute bastard thing to do, but a quality sitcom moment as I imagine a whole crowd of faces turning around

He was as worse for wear on the ale as those Rangers fans were, he just waved at us without thinking what the result of that might be. We laughed about it with him a few days later. :D

I already pay SKY about £100 per month, but I wish I could give that money to Villa and see all our games.

I don't really care about watching other teams anymore.

I never have. That's why I've never given SkyScumSport a penny. Ever.

Anyone know much about the game at BH today?

Not much info out there on it.

Villa XI action against Crewe at Bodymoor: Sinisalo; Kesler, Bogarde, Targett, Chukwuemeka, J.Ramsey, Hourihane, Wesley, Barry. Buendia was supposed to play but was rested due to a knock

We won 1-0 with Barry scoring the winner

Interesting that Wesley played, wasn't sure if suspensions were a thing in friendlies.. though I do remember someone getting sent off in a friendly before and missing the opening fixture of the season.. don't fully remember but Lee Hendrie comes to mind

Do we only have one more friendly before the season starts? :-S

Officially yes, wouldn't be surprised if they've organised a behind closed doors at Bodymoor on Tue/Wed for the lads just back from international duties (and any new signings)
