Probably a case of trying too hard but he looked really poor tonight. You can see why Unai has his reservations. He’s a useful player to have in the squad but I think he lacks the quality to be starting every week.

he isnt good enough for emery ball.

im not saying he isnt a good player, he is for certain styles, but he 100% does not suit Emery ball.

He has the quality to start, but has definitely been trying too hard lately. He's the sort of player that competition hurts rather than helps.

Think it depends on the game. There have been other games under Emery where he’s looked really dangerous in attack.

Will benefit from competition from a specialist RB imo.

Maybe its just the camera work but seems like emery gets the most pissed off at cash compared to other players. Seems to have happened on a few occasions since emery came in.

Emery has said that he sees a lot of himself in Cash and is usually particularly hard on his fullbacks in general. They're closest to the sideline and he asks a lot of them. But Emery also tears into Luiz all the time and he's arguably our best player so I wouldn't look too much into it.

I think Emery wants to turn Cash into his version of Coke at Sevilla and Alberto Moreno at Villareal. A FB/wide midfielder who can play up and down that side of the pitch - be a solid defender but also contribute in the build up.

But Cash really struggles with being higher up on the pitch with any task that's not hugging the sideline or being a box crasher. Would be surprised to see if Unai can really get a tune out of him drifting infield but he's worked wonders with everyone else so far.

Yeah I sat down by the dugout for one of the European games and Cash seemed to be receiving the most instructions and shouts from the staff compared to anyone else

Charitably, I'd guess this is because Emery actually sees a lot of potential in him, and wants him to learn. Some players (e.g. Bailey) take longer than others (e.g. McGinn) to absorb the information.

It may seem like a long time ago but he only started playing RB in 2019 due to multiple injuries at Forest. Some people making out like he couldn't Polish a turd.

He can definitely Polish.
