Loan Thread 20/21

Just the one confirmed so far with Jack Clarke joining Yeovil Town on a season long loan. They finished 4th in the National League last season, losing to Barnet in the Play-offs.  Clarke is 21 and has made an appearance for the Irish U/18s back in 2016. Unfortunately I can't find any info on how long he is contracted to AVFC for.

I hope we have a proper strategy for our loans this year.

  •  If they go on loan, it's to somewhere that they will play
  •  If we rate them, make sure their contracts are solid beyond the current season
  •  If they don't do on loan, it's because they are part of the first team squad (mainly for the 18/19 year olds)
  • Or they're shit, and the loan is to give them a chance to build a career and us to save a few quid (Scott, Henri, et al)

We can't be keeping players like Jacob Ramsey to play 20 minutes in the Carabao cup. He played 7 games in league 1 (scored 3) - either time in the Championship beckons, or give him a chance.

3 minutes ago, Nigel said:

Please god let Davis go on loan!

No point, he has 12 months left on his contract, although if he signed a new contract I would send him out on loan (if we actually buy a new striker)

I think that there's a possibility that the likes of Jake Walker, Callum Rowe, Mungo Bridge, Dominic Revan, Lewis Brunt and Jacob Ramsey could all be loaned out, and and possibly Tyreik Wright, Cameron Archer and Philogene-Bidace and Vassilev as well

Also wouldn't be surprised to see us loan out a few players in the last year of their contracts, such as Lansbury, Jota, and Hogan if anyone will take them.

Suggestions that the National League season won't go ahead as planned if spectators aren't allowed into the grounds because of the rising Covid cases.

If they can't start the season without fans then not even sure if they'll play the season at all, which would obviously affect Jack Clark, and a few of our other youngsters would have probably ended up with loans to non-league clubs as well.

Cameron Archer has joined Solihull Moors on loan until January.

The pacy teenage forward has made the short move across the midlands to link up with the Vanarama National League side, whose league season gets underway this weekend.

Academy graduate Archer has made three appearances for Villa’s Under-23s so far this season.

He made his first-team debut last term in the club’s Carabao Cup triumph at Crewe Alexandra, stepping off the bench as a late substitute.

Good luck at the Moors, Cameron!
