Seems a silly perspective but everyone’s entitled to it.

It depends what age they are really. 17-18 like Cam Archer and no issue with him going non league and working his way up the league pyramid with loans. Big problem if he's 20 years old and only getting at best league 2 club like the guy who was at Cheltenham last season who some were calling to be involved in our first team (think it was Doyle-Hayes?)

Gabby, Weimann and Gary Cahill all had loan spells at championship clubs the season before they broke through into our first team and Jacob Ramsey looks to be following a similar path as  imagine he'll go out in January if he's not getting on the bench.

Surprised it looks like none of Dominic Revan, Jake Walker, Mungo Bridge, Callum Rowe, Lewis Brunt, Michael Tait are going out on loan, all in their twenties now or in Tait's and Brunt's case approaching it.

Revan is the one I don't really get. I know we had the injury crisis at the back when DS came in two years back but he was making the bench for some of our games yet hasn't played  a senior game since due to not being loaned out.

Also did wonder about Kaine Kesler given how highly rated he seems to be and we'll probably be shifting two of the RBs by next summer but he is still only 17. Can see Louie Barry going out on loan in January.

Not sure if our defensive performances in the EFL Trophy would have done us many favours if we were looking to loan out Bridge or Revan, there's always January, a couple of injuries and they might find themselves in with a chance of making the first team squad.

Will be interesting to see how we handle the next crop of youngsters coming through, they have a bit more hype surrounding them which will probablly help them get decent loan moves when the times comes, many of them being England youth internationals should help as well.

Loaning young players to lower division clubs is more or less dead . We're going to have to sell with buy back clauses or sell on clauses to develop our youth players.

Teams are using player development to raise revenue, so their not going to  increase the loan clubs players value by playing them over their own players unless they are really in the shit.

Only really high end players are viable to the loaning club's and even that's a bit short sighted....imo .

Hadn't realised that Jake Walker had gone to Alvechurch, he'll be playing with Jack Birch who they signed after we released him in the summer. Will be interesting to see how they do.

Just seen that Lewis Brunt has also gone on loan to Gloucester City for three months.

Thanks @useless. They are getting harder & harder to keep track of. If anyone sees any other youth players moving out on loans it would be greatly appreciated if they could point them out to me!

With the investment in staff and young players at Academy level appointing a loan manager seems like a logical move and it’s further evidence of the desire to drive on with all aspects of the club. In the past we’ve almost loaned players out as an after thought.

Will be interesting to see who they appoint, I believe Terry’s brother is the loan manager at WBA....

Archer scores twice and assists another for Solihull then gets dropped to the bench for the next two games, Clarke also on the bench for Yeovil.

Us bringing in a loan manager is probably a very good idea, as I don't think we've been brilliant at finding the right clubs for some of our youngsters, in terms of finding them teams where they'll be actually needed, or teams that play a style of football that suit their strengths, talking more about previous seasons' loans than this seasons'.
