Quick feet and incredible skill. He's a brilliant striker when he's confident, and that self belief is sky high at the moment. Pundits were drooling over it on MotD. Obviously it's not going to get the headlines that Garnacho's overhead kick did but it was a delicious finish. The quick feet made it, Vicario was not expecting the shot to come as early as it did, he'd taken half a step to his left when Ollie controlled the ball with the outside of his boot and by the time he'd got his foot planted the shot was heading towards goal and it was too late.

MWARLEY2
12 hours ago, Mark Albrighton said: That’s 7 in the league this season. In all competitions he’s up to 12. For what it’s worth, 7 goals is the most he’s got for us after 13 games (arbitrary amount of goals and games there). In previous seasons it’s taken him between 17 and 23 games to reach 7. Too much to hope he reaches 20 league goals AND gets more than Yorke’s 25 goals in all competitions during 1995/96? Just seen. 38 league games for Emery...20 goals ..so if he just carries on like he is he will do it .
KevinRichardsonsMoustache
According to his Wikipedia page, he now has more goals for us than any of his previous clubs. And he'll surpass his Brentford appearance record soon, too.
tinker Posted November 27, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted November 27, 2023 That goal was one of his best for us, a season ago he would never have scored it. He's improving if he can add consistency to his game then the sky's the limit for him.
Lord Willard
I just came to post the same. Probably his best goal for us. That’s a strike all the top top striker finish. Control and finish with no wind up.
Paulie
You can tell he’s brimming with confidence at the moment - hope he stays healthy and firing through the fixture congestion. alreadyexists Posted November 28, 2023 Author VT Supporter Share Posted November 28, 2023 12 goals in 20 apps in all comps so far this year. He could be getting 25 goals or more across the whole season, an incredible talent, so glad he’s ours!
TheMelvillan
as good as the pass from Youri, a second touch or delaying the finish and he likely would have been tackled or blocked down. Excellent decision making and execution from Ollie

He gets ten and half bells knocked out of him every game and keeps chugging along. The iron man.
skarroki
Sounded like it was an injury. If it was I'd leave him out against Bournemouth too. I'd rather have him for the double header of City and Arsenal.
Tom13
Quote Asked after the match whether Watkins missed out due to an injury or simply a precaution, Emery said: ‘Both. He had a small pain yesterday. Not very strong. We decided as well to rest him.’

Villatillidie95
Emery said in the presser today that Watkins is 50/50 for Sundays game, he also said he is only thinking about this game and not any other. I have a feeling he will play against Bournemouth, the guy is one of the fittest players in the league and seems to have a very good injury record here….fingers crossed

While history gives us a guide to the future it’s far from certain. Relying on Ollie continuing to being fit 99% of the time is incredibly risky, one bad moment and we are in trouble. Fortunately according to Emery this is a minor injury currently but not having a significant back up could hinder a season that has started so well. Duran is so raw.
