Mazrim
Put 3 of them in goal at once. Or maybe its a load of bollocks. Probably the latter
sharkyvilla
The fact that Bruce is after him should be an automatic turn off. I can't see us signing another keeper somehow.

screwdriver
Steer keeps the shirt now. He's number one. Kalanic has to win Villa fans over again because he's been garbage. Its probably the agent making up stuff to juice sheffield weds for more cash or to hurry a deal up. Theres no way we would look at another keeper unproven in the english game. unless jesus is a complete tool.

il_serpente Posted March 28, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted March 28, 2019 Bruce had been wanting Nyland for a couple of years. Why don't we just sell him to Wednesday and let Kalinic and Steer fight it out for the No. 1 shirt.
villalad21
I don't think Kalinic been garbage, but to say he hasn't been poor so far then i really don't know which games you've been watching.

He has been good and probably been dropped only due to his head injury. Steer has played well so he keeps the shirt for now, it's as simple as that.
Junxs
I wouldnt say he's been garbage or poor, but equally he has not impressed either. Just hasnt played enough yet to judge either way, but in that time he hasn't done anything that has made me say "wow".

Said a few times I notice they would rather keep a player out and work on him until they have him primed. No way will the investment be chucked away. I expect a stronger, quicker, more commanding Kalinic next season.
Mazrim
Its usual for a goalie to have a settling in period. Few come in and look great immediately. Even De Gea looked dodgy at first. Steer is doing well. He also has been the only keeper to have a settled competent defence in front of this season. I have no fears over Kalinic either. Even Nyland might surprise with a stronger defence.

sharkyvilla
Kalinic looked good to me against Brentford and seemed to be settling in, I think it was the next game he got injured wasnt it? I'm pretty sure he will get another go before long.
villabromsgrove
I like Steer and he's doing a decent job behind a settled defence .... but .... Kalinic played behind an ever changing defence which made his task bloody tough. Kalinic is a much better prospect than Steer going forward in my opinion. Dr_Pangloss
De Gea was getting mentioned when Nyland was playing like a sack of shit. What's this forum's obsession with De Gea? It's a comparison that confers absolutely zero insight on any keeper we have.
