Match Thread: Villa v Bolton

We've been poor. We can have as many creative and intense training sessions as we want and set up well but there is a few in that starting 11 who we are pissing into the wind with. Hourihane has a really poor footballing brain. His movement. Not brave on the ball, at all ! Balance, shifting it between feet is atrocious.  Kodjia is exhausting.

Full/Wingbacks and keeper the weakest links in the team without question.

Totally agree. Desperately need a decent LB (unfortunately can’t do anything til Jan) but surely we have better RB options.

As for GK...?

He is way worse now then I've ever seen him. Must be something else going on with him. He was never great, but not this shit.

Looks like a confidence thing. I’m quite sure he’s technically capable of catching a high, looping ball - even I am, and I was never a candidate to go in goal - but he looks about as confident as a virgin on a porn set.

Nyland is the only thing that scares Chuck Norris

Before Chuck Norris goes to sleep, he checks under the bed for Nyland.

Before Nyland goes to sleep, he checks under the bed for a football.

Ali Al-Habsi was from Saudi Arabia or Qatar or something and looked 100 times more competent.

You get one more guess! ;)

(and he, in fact, made his career in Norwegian football)

Largely pleasing. Good passing, especially for the goal. Should be at least two for us with our chances mind, but they've come close as well due to our vulnerability in the air. Amazing athleticism from Chester to save a certain goal. I'd actually make Hutton MOTM so far, though Grealish would probably win the popular vote. Feeling quite encouraged and starting to enjoy the evolution. Definitely need another because we are still capable of ducking it up.

Grealish has been brilliant, composure of a Prem player. McGinn, Tuan, Chester all good. Butterfingers cannot keep his place he is the biggest liability I have ever seen at Villa. Adomah ineffective, cant beat a man, Kodjia not anticipating things, really need a second asap and relax into a more dominant rhythm. Every free kick and corner they get is making me more and more nervous.

Pur the game to bed Villa ffs. Please dont let them back into it and ruine another weekend

Nyland is guzan version 2. Can pull sick reactonary saves but fails at basics looks nervous and makes idiotic mistakes.

At least Guzan was reliable at set pieces though. When Nyland plays you never know what will happen whenever the opponent get a corner

I've been to the Chuck Norris Grill in Reyjavik and that was bad ass.  Nyland  (on current form) couldn't handle one of those burgers.
