Match Thread: Villa v Bolton

First game I've seen under DS. Looked really good first 5-10 minutes and looked like cutting Bolton to pieces. Then reverted to type for the rest of the 1st half with Hutton arguably Villa's most effective player.

Still want to see more movement from Villa's strikers.

Back four still shaky on crosses.

i think the prob with Kodjia and Adomah on the wing/inside AM, they arent "intricate passers", so it kinda doesnt suit us overall i dont think, they arent bad players, i just dont see them fitting the AM role.

Not impressed with Hourihane, at all!

Nyland omg, is Surkic not close to being rdy for a jump from the U23s?

That run from McGinn again which he almost scored himself from ... marvellous.

I must admit I can't fully grasp what he is. Weird player.

Doesn't get shaken off the ball.  I think part of it is the very low centre of gravity, and also plays crouching.  Almost subterranean.  So different to Grealish drifting along.

If this was Lord of the Rings, Grealish would be the elf, and McGinn the dwarf.  Not a bad combination.
