I think Bruce will be the deciding factor in Jack being here next season.

If he stays, Jack stays for at least another season.

I think our lack of money is the deciding factor .

Well we don't know that really, do we?

Jacks not asked to leave so would Bruce need to convince him to stay as you suggest?

‘Let’s say Bruce stays - he will not get us promoted in my opinion with a much weakened side - so in a years time we have jack Grealish with only a year left on his contract - the fee would decrease hugely .

steve Bruce staying for me only delays the inevitable  and I expect it to end in tears pretty early into next season .

If Bruce couldn’t get us up with that team last season then I see little to suggest he will get us up with a weaker team

We don't know if Jack has asked to leave or not. Or we don't know if an acceptable offer comes in he might have his head turned. My point is if that situation arises, Bruce might be able to convince him to stay more so than a manager he's never worked with before.

It's hypothetical.

Yes, I think he would need convincing. I would imagine he would want to see what Bruce's plans are for the coming season.

JT , snoddy and Johnstone have gone and we need to find multi millions to abide by ffp rules - whatever Bruce’s plans are things look pretty bleak to me , in fact if anything if Bruce is staying I’d be more inclined to get out if I was in jacks shoes .

‘This for me is another lambert situation in the making with the manager  departing long after he should do :(

Indeed as it would also be if xia tells Bruce we need the money and need to sell jack .

All will be revealed in the fullness of time , thank god the World Cup will provide some distraction from this .

Look at his moaning about how hard he has had it this year.

He will be **** unbearable next season

He could walk into Villa park and burn it down, be caught on CCTV and still people blame everybody but him,  Bruce would also blame others. Never his fault.

Think of the on pitch stuff as well.

What will be on offer after the muck he served up with seasoned internationals throughout the squad.

And win, lose or draw all we'll hear every effing single week is how hard he's got it.

It'll give him even more reason to be defensive as well, "we don't have the players", whereas with Grealish, Snodgrass and Adomah, plus goals from midfield in Hourihane, and strikers such as Hogan who scored plenty for Brentford, Grabban for all teams has been with, he was still cautious and defensive, but at least he can blame somebody else.

Yeah, expectation levels. Poor Steve - he got the job because he is supposed to be the expert in getting teams promoted, and even said himself "who would we get that is better"

Of course expectation levels are f**king high!!!!! If they weren't we would have Neverheardof McNobody managing us and not be paying him £1.5m/year, rather than the supposed promotion specialist.

Needs to stop being stubborn and take the safety break off if he's going to stay. Stop with the lining up not to lose and set the team up to win!

You're asking a very old dog to learn new tricks.

If @omariqy figures are in the ball park then the case for retaining Bruce is a bit stronger. If we get to keep Grealish then it’s back to the loan market for a few and Bruce has great contacts. He will also have to flesh the squad out with the yoof too. Could work. Therefore #BruceIN.
