Lets assume thats Rounds area of expertise - wheres the impact ? - do the players look fitter ? - have we had less injuries ? If fact lets say Round hadn't arrived last september - do you think the club would have finished significantly lower in the table without him ? Agree. His sports science knowledge seems to be the heady heights of diploma level; a highly qualified expert in the area is something that he is not. Some of the other shite is just guff to make his position sound of any importance. It's an absolute wafty, non-job of a role. The things that he arguably should be here for, don't seem to be in his remit. If he's not here to set a 'Villa way' in terms of playing/managerial style then why not!? We've gone from two very different types of manager and no doubt our third will differ again. And why is there a disconnect between the players we buy and the manager we have in place!? Who is overseeing the purchases and setting a transfer philosophy? RDM was allowed to go wild in the transfer market without much attention to the midfield. Bruce bought players to improve the midfield, but with seemingly no idea of how he'd fit them in a cohesive system. We've been down this route before of recruiting managers with massively different ideas whilst allowing them to go totally unsupervised in the transfer market. It all ended in tears. And yet here we are again...!

Tell companies and universities to scrap it all? It's so funny the utter strop some fans get into.

Go into a thread for a boke whose job you know nothing about and dismiss it and slag him off. If they've said something in an interview that sounds promising, then it's just PR bollocks and doesn't mean anything. I have no idea if Steve Round is doing a good job or not. That's why I don't post in here

Popular Post bobzy
According to ol' Pat Murphy, this guy has been key to us signing John Terry for a less lucrative financial package than, basically, every other offer he had. Well done this man? The key to Terry's decision to join Villa is his high regard for Bruce and Steve Round. Villa did not offer the best financial deal but there is a massive mutual respect between the player, Villa's manager and the director of football. Round forged a close working relationship with Terry when he was assistant to England head coach Steve McClaren and Terry was the highly influential captain. When Fabio Capello succeeded McClaren, Terry lobbied in vain for Round to be kept on England's coaching staff. Terry always hoped he would work with him again at club level. Morley_crosses_to_Withe
Terry has said that a "few conversations" (with Bruce) "got me here". "I've got a lot of respect for him and the way he treated me personally and as a person" "Steve (Bruce) being Steve persuaded me to come".
