I've come up blank on these mate.

Had a look last night and a few google searches (even tried splitting the images and doing google image searches!)

They all ring a bell, but just cant quite place them.

I was pretty convinced the soldier looking one on the right of the 4 was one of the figures you used to get with the GI Joe/Action Force vehicles back in the day (the vehicles always came with a generic looking ‘driver’), but I looked on a site that list all the figures made during the early 80’s and nothing looked similar.

Thanks for looking mate

I think a mate has come up trumps on 2 of the 3 figures (the middle 2). He thinks they are 'Dino Riders' figures (no, me neither)

Just the figure on the right and the bottom figure left to identify. Like you, they ring a bell, but can't place them. No data on the figure either like a date or manufacturer.

I'm intrigued by the 1:12 scale figure. Google Image search suggests 'super-villain'. Haven't found anything similar online so far, though.

The figure on the far right is a character called Adam Steiner from a line called Battletech from Tyco Toys. They also had a cartoon

I have no idea how the figures is in my collection!

Thinking about toys I had brings back some good memories, but what about toys you were never allowed to have?

Me, and most kids I knew, always wanted one of these but were never allowed. I don’t know why, did adults know something we didn’t about them? Were the syrups laced with LSD perhaps. Who knows.

i remember that! Never had it but remember wanting it for a short while.

We had a soda stream though, so I was getting dangerous levels of e-numbers through the associated syrups

Yes, same reason I didn't get my daughter a lot of stuff she asked for. It's obviously going to be complete crap and nothing like the advert.

I always wanted a telescope, but for some reason got a microscope instead.

I wanted a microscope. I suspect my parents were delighted to get me such an educational toy. Unfortunately I played with it about twice, looked at the slides that came with it and got rightly bored thereafter.

As a kid, I always wanted a Tesla plasma ball. I don’t think I ever told my folks, maybe I assumed they were a specialised item or something.

Fast forward to earlier this year, I introduced my kid to an old lava lamp that I’ve ended up with (the schools being off, I’ve resorted to anything to keep her entertained, even if it’s just for five minutes).

Turns out she likes it, regularly asks for it to be switched on. I’ve taken this as a definite go ahead that a plasma ball will be very well received so I’ve gone out and finally treated myse...ahem, I mean, I’ve bought one for her for either Christmas or her birthday shortly after.

The one toy I never got as a kid were the bigger Transformers. Like Ultra Magnus or Megatron etc.

Talking of Megatron, can you imagine a toy converting into a realistic gun being allowed today.

They reckon that Iranian Nuclear Scientist was murdered using a remote control gun.  This is now the kind of weapon my minds eye is imagining.

  • 1 month later...

I remember waking up in the middle of the night one winter and thinking that I'd saw a ghost floating past my bed, but then realizing that It was just some fog that had gotten in after I'd forgot to close the window.

Also remember one morning I was in WH Smiths and the floor being covered in leaves, I think the electric doors must have faulted and become trapped open, meaning the wind blew all the leaves inside, there was people standing in the leaves reading magazines.

The first set look like figures from mask to me. Are the helmets all removable? I was obsessed with this as a kid.

If you had it now and walked outside with it, they'd call the SWAT team!
