Reassessed line up. I now think there will be a takeover but we won't have much to spend beyond one or two 'quality' players to help get us out. I also expect a lot of players to go but those on lower wages will stay.

So, Joey O'Brien & Robson-Kanu in on free transfers. Money spent on Matt Phillips.

Grealish centre midfield?

Going on his recent play I'm putting Toner in the starting line-up for next season.

------------------------Steer ------------------------

Hutton--------Toner----------Clark--------Amavi

--------------Gardner-------Westwood-----------

Grealish------------------------------------Adama

-------------------Veretout--------------------------

-------------------------------Gestede--------------

clark, baker and toner are all left centre sided centre backs, we need a right footed cb.

Agree completely!  From a coach point of view, a successful centre half pairing always have a right and left footer.  I like Dunk at Brighton, but also plenty of loan options from Premiership teams i would imagine?  A Stoke friend of mine has said that Shawcross has really gone off the boil and could be replaced in the summer.  Not saying we could buy him but decent loan option surely?

Aston Villa is the club, not the team, you wouldnt associate the tea lady as the team, the question is referring to the first playing team clearly

it appears the only piece of deadwood certain to be off is nzogbia and now possibly okore with his attitude.

speaking of centre backs, what the opinions of the following...

joel ekstrand
jordan willis
ben tozer
scott dann
aden flint
grant hanley

Toner's not ready to start I don't think. Agree with AndyBM that we need a right footed CB. I don't have an opinion on the ones you brought up though. I'm very Villa-centric. :)

Keeping Grealish, Adama and Gil is key for me. Those 3 behind Ayew or another would reek havoc in the Championship.

Keeping Amavi for the season would be great business, and then a solid other 5 from there. Gardner and Westwood would be good to keep in and around the starting 11, but we would need more bite and physicality from somewhere.

A good start to the season and getting back to winning ways and gaining momentum are key.

There is zero chance of Grealish, Traore, Gil and Ayew being here next season.

Definitely agree people need to realise the reality of relegation. We would be lucky if qe can keep ahold of grealish alone

Team will be the same apart from Ayew (too good) Adama (too good/expensive) Gill (will get a move to Spain) and of course Bacuna who will be playing for a Champions League club, in all seriousness he'll probably get a gig at some dutch club.

So we get to keep Lescott, Richards, Hutton, Westwood and Gabby. Oh joy.

I hope to God our starting line-up next season is radically different because I hate so many of our players with a passion.

Id rather start with 6 players instead of watching some of them

Is how I see it.

If the new owners have enough money I'd just sack half the current squad. Their presence is so poisonous, sacking and paying them off would probably be more beneficial than not playing them and them turning up for training.

Basically, we're f****** as things stand.
