dAVe80
Stereo by Pavement "What about the voice of Geddy Lee? How did it get so high? I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy?" "(I know him, and he does.)" "Then you're my fact checking cuz." - Actual lyrics. "Then you're my fat second cuz" - What dAVe80 was singing for years.
Mark Albrighton Posted December 7, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted December 7, 2015 Gala-Freed from desire "My love has got no money, he's got his submarine." At the time I suspected that it probably wasn't "submarine", but I always felt it worked better.

It's clearly "jump leads"!
mjmooney Posted December 8, 2015 Author VT Supporter Share Posted December 8, 2015 I mentioned "The Bridge" theme ("Hollow Talk" by Choir of Young Believers) upthread. I just checked out what the lyrics actually are for the opening verse - compared with what I thought they were... Actual lyrics: Echoes start as a cross in you, Trembling noises that come too soon. Spatial movement which seems to you, Resonating your mask or feud. Hollow talking and hollow girl, Force it up from the root of pain. Never said it was good, never said it was near, Shadow rises and you are here. And then you cut;You cut it out, And everything Goes back to the beginning. What I heard: Echo starters a crossing moon Trenton noises have come too soon Special moon which seems to near Listen mean old mask of fear Hollow talking, a hollow girl Voicing off on your new loof pain Never said it was cool, never said it was sneer Shadow rises when you are here You know your car? You call it old And everything goes back to the beginning (Not too far off, I suppose).
ozvillafan Posted December 9, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted December 9, 2015 Anything ever sung by Australian Crawl front-man David Reyne. Oh, and "Eagle is not a dirty word" (Ego, by Skyhooks)
Ponky
*Ahem* James Reyne. But I get the point about Aussie Crawl. Generally though the lyrics you make up in your head make more sense than the actual lyrics.

Further evidence that the spoken Danish language is hilariously incomprehensible. (And that the singer in question really needs to work on his diction.)

snowychap
Shane McGowan (Fairytale of New York) : I've got a filling. 'Everest of dentistry': Shane MacGowan gets new teeth in TV special Quote An hour-long documentary about a person getting dental work might seem an odd idea for a Christmas TV special, but then these aren’t just anyone’s teeth: they’re the infamous gnashers of Pogues singer Shane MacGowan. The 57-year-old is the star of Shane MacGowan: A Wreck Reborn, which chronicles the transformation of the singer’s mouth from a graveyard of long-departed fangs to a showcase for 28 gleaming new dentures on a titanium frame. ...more on link Edited December 20, 2015 by snowychap
