  1. Sunak responds that Labour aren't coming up with any solutions and says he wants to remind Starmer that he supported Jeremy Corbyn

Corbyn would have killed 400,000 people, between holidays, whilst lying through his teeth and stuffing billions into his chums' pockets.

Terry votes Tory.

Another interesting take away from PMQ’s was that apparently it is the will of the people to have an immigration crisis. Conservatives gave that vote and delivered on it. Labour were against it.

It was utter madness and the most pathetic clutching at straws we’ve seen for, well a few weeks.

There was a funny exchange where Sunak said that Labour voted against the plan, Starmer said yes that’s right because we knew it wouldn’t work, and it hasn’t

RS walked straight into it.

If Labour had a monkey for a leader they could probably outscore Tories in any PMQs at this point.

What's funny is that government will change, and in 5/6 years we will have the exact opposite situation going on, it's the beauty of the system.

Probably for the best.

Labour mentioned not long back that we have a PM who was voted in, not speaking to the public or answering a single question.

Some said that he did all his speaking last summer.

Seems that wasn't worth much.

At the risk of reigniting the immigration debate, I thought this was an interesting counterweight to the current Tory stance:

Well it was more than half a million in the UK, Justin.  But there are two sorts of newcomers. Those that come over legally, and those that don't. I would think that immigration overall in a country like Canada is much less of an issue than it is in the UK or France.

A few weeks ago we had our then PM saying we needed to relax rules on immigration to fill the vacancies and get the economy moving.

Fast forward and we’re treating people of working age who turn up here and want to settle like animals.

These clowns we have running the country wouldn’t know a solution to a problem if it slapped them round the face.

Too preoccupied pandering to their racist voters to do what’s right.

So true. This just seems to be the aim as some desperate cling to power.

It's noticable that small boat crossings have shot up once 'Brexit' kicked in—from 299 in 2018, 1,843 in 2019, to 8,466 in 2020, roughly 30,000 in 2021. Brexiters seem to be endlessly incompetent, **** up the one thing they thought they were getting a handle on.

Most of the migrants up to end of 2021 are non EU, so how would that work? Surely Brexit wouldn't have had an impact on that? Genuine question, I don't know.

Albanians have rocketed up in 2022 because, apparently, Albanian gangs are now running the routes in France.

The main Brexit link isn't direct, more tangential - namely the breakdown in trust and communication between the UK and France as a result of the disgraceful way the British government(s) have acted over the last six years. The desire to cooperate isn't there and cooperation and information sharing is needed on both sides.

From the reading I've done on the subject, the main reason the boat numbers have spiked is more just a boring, logistical one - due to technology at ports it's now very difficult to smuggle yourself in via car, lorry or train (ramped up due in no small part to the deaths of the 39 Vietnamese found in that lorry in Essex in 2019). So if one door closes, you look to open another one. Same people, different (and much more visible) method.

As for Albanians, it's more supply and demand. They used to be mainly Syrians, Sudanese, Vietnamese, Iraqis and Iranians making the crossing but apparently Albanians are (on the whole) richer. So when people willing to pay more money showed up, the prices went up and the richer customers get to do it.

They've just had a bloke on LBC saying his solution to the migrant crisis was "to dump a load of Great White Sharks into the channel". Needless to say he was cut off pretty swiftly, but it's troubling that these people not only exist but feel so emboldened in their disgusting views that they're safe to spout them in a public forum. I wonder why they feel so safe to do so?

He's probably like a few on here who listen to the bullshit from the likes of Farage, The Daily Mail and the Tories without question and grossly exaggerate the problem in their heads. In a way they're just confused, and maybe a little scared. So perhaps they need sympathy.

Or, otherwise, he's just a prick.

Living in Brum it's easy to forget that most parts of the country have very little experience of immigration, not to the extent that we have. Walk around Birmingham and it would be hard to guess where in the world you are and i love it, vibrant.

The stories of these immigrants should be told, where they are from, what they have lived through,  why they have battled across seas to come to the UK. What they offer the UK, asylum seekers that have become Doctors, Nurses, cleaners ....The BBC should be educating the people on what a terrible world we live in and the determination and courage these people have shown to get to our country.
