There was a time when City had to be one of the worst pound for pound league sides in the world around here. Stuart Peace. Corradi. Samaras. Some proper proper proper shite. Went about 5 years without scoring a goal at game or something. Sorry to say it too but Vassell was a terrible terrible footballer. Wouldn't get a sniff of PL football or an England cap nowadays. Of course it was money Thaksin Shinawatra had stolen from Thailand too so they were effectively a money laundering operation before they became a sportswashing operation. Hell, I'd have taken him in our squad last season, without a doubt.
Jimzk5
On Vassell, my over riding memory of him in a villa shirt was against Bolton, mayby 2004? I was stood in the holte end and he either run onto a loose ball or nicked it off a Bolton player on the halfway line, just legged it towards the Bolton goal, closer and closer to goal only the keeper to beat Just shinned a tame shot into the keepers body. Like gabby, never a premier league footballer, could just run really fast Edited December 25, 2021 by Jimzk5

sne
Quote Daniel Sturridge, forced to pay more than 20,000 euros to the man who found his dog The former Premier offered money for whoever gave him his dog and never kept his word. Now the courts have decided that you have to pay back what you promised. Former Liverpool, Chelsea, West Brom and England striker Daniel Sturridge has been sentenced to pay more than 20,000 euros to the man who found his dog Lucci when it was stolen in 2019 . This has been decided by a Los Angeles court after two years of waiting for the complainant, the musician Foster Washington . The former Premier League's dog disappeared when individuals broke into his home in July 2019 and was found the next day. The current Perth Glory footballer took to social networks to report the disappearance of his dog and asked his followers to help him find it. The forward offered the amount of 23,000 euros to the person who found his Pomeranian and took him home. But his reward never came. Los Angeles musician Foster Washington was the one who brought Lucci to Sturridge's house, but he never paid him the money promised by the footballer. https://as.com/tikitakas/2021/12/25/portada/1640431250_127115.html
rodders0223
Sturridge seems like a proper weird guy tbh. Talented as hell. Saw him on podcasts in the summer saying he was desperate to get back in. He's mentally stronger and fitter than he has ever been. Is going to give everything to the last few years of his career. Signs for Perth. Pulls out a game as the flight is too long and he risks injury. You're 31. Your career is vanishing Just get on the pitch. Proper proper weirdo. I read this and thought it would be something about having to flky to Australia from the UK and immediately play. No, he was in Australia, and refused to play in an away game because of a 4 hour flight. Hasn't played since. What an arse.
Xela
Like others have said, he is (or was) a talented player. He's still young enough to be playing at the top level. A quick look at his career stats would indicate he has barely, if at all, played a full season in his career.

I mean it's obvious that everything he's doing isn't serving his interests in any way. And on that basis I can't take the piss out of him, it's IMO really quite sad. Indeed both getting bad injuries around 2004 meant that was the end of the partnership. He deserved the England cap when he got it as he hit double figures in 01/02 and set a few up for JPA with his pace and movement.
