Apathy saved McLeish from a massive backlish, there was a lot of stay away fans, it was sit where you want in the upper holte for some games, especially if the kick off was moved He still got a lot of patience out of us, more than he deserved, think towards the end of the season when we were safe enough and people thought he could get sacked the vitriol unleashed (Bolton at home or was that someone else?) it was almost like an uncorking, a celebration, a penny dropped and it felt like you could give him the shit you'd wanted to all season but been reluctant to because of the mood Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
VillaChris Posted May 27, 2020 Author Share Posted May 27, 2020 I think after the intial protest when he was appointed it calmed down due to a) a fair amount actually wanting to give him a proper chance b) we had a reasonably o.k start to the season with results and c) everyone knew the media would just say "you never gave him a chance because he came from SHA." Which the likes of Talksport then lazily said anyway when he got sacked even though it was very late on in the season when VP really erupted v Bolton as you say. It his 8th club he has signed for in his career. The Mansfield manager thinks he is a 'real handful'. He scored two goals this season. It's weird, usually if it's less than a 2 year sentence (for footballers at least) it's probation rather than jail. The usual tax fraud like Ronaldo, Messi and so on. A terrible CB aswell, saw his debut for Villareal and it was tragic and they binned him out on loan soon after. Obviously got big issues off the pitch aswell. Just randomly compared Kienan Davis to Libor Kozak somewhere else so went on soccerbase to see how Libor was doing and seems he's scored at a good rate for Sparta Prague this season. Still only 31. Not amazing but he'd have probably turned out to be a decent squad striker for us if the leg break hadn't occurred, had a decent scoring ratio. She was very happy when she learned that a friend of mine was coming to visit in Hanoi, because she knew he was good at computers. One of those players, that coaches seem to continually take a punt on, in the hope they can automate the natural skill-set. Could come good eventually and under the right coach.
