Aston Villa: Scott Marshall leaves first team coaching role

Aston Villa first team coach Scott Marshall has left the club.

Former Brentford full-back Marshall, 41, took charge of Villa's 2-1 victory over Leicester in Sunday's FA Cup fifth round game after Paul Lambert was sacked.

Ex-Spurs boss Tim Sherwood has taken over as manager on a three-year deal.

Villa chief executive Tom Fox thanked Marshall for his efforts "especially under difficult circumstances at the weekend".

Best Villa Manager ever. never lost a game.

Tara then Scott, Our defence got better at not letting the other team kick the ball thing in the net thing as much as they used to before you came along. I believe that was your remit. Thanks indeed.

AndyBM - sorry but It's a real bug bear of mine.  It's "would have" not would of"  hence why it is would've, could've and should've and not would'f, could'f  and should'f

I appreciate that sometimes when people say it, it can be misheard and sound like "of" but there's no excuse when writing.

Please behave yourself and be perfect in everything you say and do :-)

I don't know what Ugo's record has been like as a coach, but my overriding memory of him, is him jumping ship to Boro for a fat pay cheque. I'd rather we didn't employ him for that reason.
