I bet you drink lager though. And Coke. Fizzy.

That's not what makes it horrible though. The fizziness gives it a weird taste.

If someone doesn't like flat lager, you couldn't say "yeah but you drink water".

I don't get this 'taste' business. It doesn't taste of anything - it's water. Only fizzy. The fizziness cuts through the thirst, just like any carbonated drink does. But otherwise, it's exactly the same as still water.

This 'people hate fizzy water' business has been a complete revelation. Such a thing never occurred to me.

Yep another one here who doesn’t like sparking water. I can’t articulate why I dislike it, but I’m pretty sure I find that it does “taste” different to still water.

I also find it doesn’t quench my thirst either.

I don't mind fizzy water if it has a flavour - like lemon and lime. Very refreshing then

I often use a fizzy bottle of buxton spring or similar if I'm diluting cordial.........in my own mind it's a bit healthier than buying a can of vimto itself.......I'm hoping so anyway but yeah, a bit of citrus in water deffo cuts the thirst :D

You can taste a dry carbon dioxide flavour in sparkling water. Different brands have slightly different tastes as well.

Carbon dioxide doesn't taste of anything. Some of the CO2 forms carbonic acid which gives the water a slight sour taste

People who don't like sparkling water are demonstrating their uneducated palates.
