Hot tubs.

Just saw an item on The One Show that claimed that one in ten Brits now had a garden hot tub. REALLY? I'd be amazed if it was one in ten thousand.

I can imagine the novelty of having your own personal one must wear off very quickly. I used to work with someone who had one and I had the impression they seldom used it. Maybe once a month as a guess.

I used to organise a trip away with my mates late on in the year to some luxury lodge in various parts of the UK. The second one I organised had a hot tub, after that it was a requirement that we always had one.

It was fine, but every year was the same, first couple of days/nights drinking in the hot tubs. By the end of the week it was always “well, I suppose we better make the most of the hot tub before we go”....”Yeah, I guess”.

Maybe it would have been better if we had ever just once managed to convince some ladies to join us ?

I suspect most of them,  at the end of a hot summer are basically just full of re-heatable small bits of cake,  bodily fluids of the owners and the neighbors I guess.  There are up sides though suppose,  it can't all be bleach, cakes and the fluids as I mentioned earlier.

The place I stayed in Normandy last week had one. Much excitement at the prospect from all in attendance. So much so that it was 4 days in before I got a go. I lasted 20 minutes. No idea what the fuss is with them.

it sounds logically challenged

but 23% of people are middle class, 29% are lower middle class, 21% are skilled working class

17% live in flats so thats them out, 26% live in terraced housing which in my mind doesn't have the space, 56% live in semi or detached house, around 60% of those houses though are social housing

its doable, 65m people, so thats 6.5m people, average say 4 people per house that 1.6m hot tubs, if you throw in the glorified paddling pools which are about £300-500 then im not so sure its impossible

The old neighbours got one a few years back. They built a load of decking to chuck it on. Lasted 2 summers, then they ripped it out. Then last year they sold the house. Last week the new owners asked if I knew what all the rotten wood down the bottom of their garden was :D

No way can that be true. I know one person with one out of everyone I know.

Exactly. I don't know any. And I've seen just one in the neighbourhood.

Hot tubs are definitely on the rise. I know a few people who have them, and I also see a few gardens with them in. I wouldn't mind one myself tbf. As Chris as already mentioned, they would be great for getting something going with a group of people. Great for making amateur porn videos, I'd imagine.

From what you've posted of your house, it looks like a really leafy and pleasant neighbourhood. You normally find hot tubs in the lower class ghetto's, to make the lower class feel better about themselves.

Never occurred to me, but you're probably right. Very middle class round here.

gypsies

just seen a load booted out of morrisons, 3 women and a bloke, loads of kids, they're staying in the aldi car park in tiny horrible caravans, booted out partly because the bloke and 1 of the women were scrapping and partly because another woman took offence to what she perceived as being followed, absolute tirade of abuse towards the staff

"your a **** racist" said about 43 times as they all stormed out

i leave the store to see another group of gypsy men scrapping out the back of a van

who the **** wants that life?
