vandaq
Brazil squad - Julio Cesar, Jefferson, Vitor Dante, David Luiz, Henrique, Thiago Silva, Dani Alves, Maicon, Marcelo, Maxwell. Luiz Gustavo, Oscar, Paulinho, Ramires, Hernanes, Willian Bernard, Fred, Hulk, Jo, Neymar think about who's missing (not all deserve to be there and some will be injured) - kaka, marquinhos, alex, miranda, fernando, lucas, adriano and the biggest one at a guess lucas moura maicon and maxwell Miranda, and moura should have been there. Fernando has had a great season, would certainly pick him ahead of gustavo and paulinho. Might even throw in ramires there since he has been pretty poor in the last months. kurtsimonw
That attack is not scary at all.
Xela
no sandro either, bet he's happy with sherwood not playing him... Or Fernandinho. I think he's a decent season for Man City EDIT: He is in squad but not listed in the post! Edited May 7, 2014 by Xela
Jimzk5
That brazil squad is a little meh.
VillaChris
It was meh in 2010 aswell...I just don't think Brazil produce great players anymore...certainly compared to what Argentina churn out nowadays or what Brazil had in the late 90s.
Rovers13
The only issue I see is striker and maybe keeper... Imagine Diego costa. That's 100% on scolari.
packoman
Germany: Goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer, Roman Weidenfeller and Ron-Robert Zieler. Midfielders: L Bender, Draxler, Goetze, Goretzka, Hahn, Khedira, Kroos, Meyer, Mueller, Ozil, Schweinsteiger. Strikers: Klose, Podolski, Reus, Scheurrle, Volland. CarewsEyebrowDesigner
If they weren't playing their group games in the heat, I'd have Germany as favourites. Argentina have a decent group and are playing theirs in the cooler south.
Voinjama
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone who knows, but Germany lack decent strikers.
Zatman
Klose is the only recognized striker as Volland is uncapped. Hopefully Low is not going for a dreadfully boring false 9 tactic though hoping Klose get the goals he needs to break Ronaldo record
Voinjama
Yeh I thought so, they are strong in all areas apart from attack. Klose will turn 36 during the tournament, I thought they would have had a top striker coming through by now. Why do you want Klose to break Ronaldo's record? CarewsEyebrowDesigner
It looks like a squad set up to counter attack. False-9s have become associated with insufferable tiki-taka, but it has been around for a while. Remember Manure effectively played a false-9 during the Ronaldo days*, with great success, and it was good to watch. *Unless Berbatov played, but even then he didn't exactly stand in the penalty area. Stevo985 Posted May 8, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted May 8, 2014 That attack is not scary at all. It's very weak for Brazil. It's why I was defending Sturridge when people in another thread were laughing at the suggestion that he'd be in the Brazil squad based on this season's form.
villa4europe
its hard looking at the 23 trying to figure out who is missing! 5 uncapped players in the 30... gundogan is injured isnt he?

kurtsimonw
I think both Brazil and Germany squads are pretty underwhelming personally.
Voinjama
I think Germany will be bringing one of the strongest midfield's and goalkeeping trios in the tournament. Edited May 8, 2014 by Voinjama
