Met office for the next weeks weather (quite accurate ) and an app called raintoday that basically a radar for clouds with rain in em, very accurate for the hour or 2 with a map for you to predict longer time frames. http://raintoday.weatherpro.de/lang/en.html

Genie
My lad has a backlog of football matches to play. The season should be finished already. They are supposed to play tonight but I suspect it’ll be cancelled again due to a waterlogged pitch. They have to play one team home and away still, they’ll probably now schedule those 2 games to be played back-to-back on the same day. Absolute farcical situation. All the money in the sport and there’s no pitches and have to decide league winners like this.
Dante_Lockhart
I'm absolutely DONE with the weather these past 6-7 months. It seems to have been nothing but grey, dark, windy, wet.. bar the odd couple of days. I'm solar powered man, I need SOME sun!

BBC and Met Office have both been saying rain today for the last week or so. My kids are always quoting their phone app weather forecasts at me and I find them to be usually far less inaccurate then BBC or met office

BBC weather went down the pan when they stopped using the Met Office and signed a deal with a commercial operation MeteoGroup in about 2018 iirc I still use the Met Office, far far better than the BBC

Every time we get a couple of days dry it then hammers it down again for 24 hrs and puts us right back. Neighbour told me he's been there 30 years and never seen anything like the garden being this bad. Edited April 9 by sidcow

Whichever I prefer I go with! Met office is more accurate for sure but as above BBC still gets it right more than many other services I've seen. There was a feature on our local TV news last week about an amateur club that is faced with possibly having to fold because of inability to fulfil fixtures due to their waterlogged pitch.

To be honest I really don’t mind that, mainly because there’s rarely any other idiots doing the same. Big coat, hood up, wrapped up warm, no problem. When he decides to down a bowl of water and then pisses it out every 20 minutes for an hour and I have to keep cleaning his feet it gets annoying fast.

Mark Albrighton Posted April 9 VT Supporter Share Posted April 9 It’s just been mostly pissy weather all year, hasn’t it? Not a lot of snow and/or ice which is fine, but just miserable. Today is particularly horrible which is colouring my view on the matter.
chrisp65
Yep, we’re handing back the allotment to the council. We’ve got a couple of weeks to wade up there and collect our tools and shed porn. In 4 years the fees have gone up from £24 pa to £120, and for the last 6 months it has been utterly unusable. It’s just permanently waterlogged, covered in puddles. At £24 something like that wouldn’t matter and if a crop didn’t work it was only ever really an excuse for some outdoor air and some exercise. With the price hikes we were relying on selling a crop of diamond encrusted asparagus to Waitrose. The only thing we could plant this year would be rice.
