Do they claim to not pay big fees? What I always see from them is that their spend/net spend isn’t that much (relatively, for a team that runs alongside Man City at the top), and I tend to agree with that. When they do spend big they seem to get it right, unlike other clubs who splash big money on flops (benchwarmer Jackie, Sancho etc etc)

My 20-month-old can say a load of fruits and vegetables reasonably well*, but for cucumber he says “cumbercap”. We can even ask him to say it in parts “cu”, “cum”, “ber”, then when we say it all together he repeats “cumbercap” *I know this sounds like a humble brag, but I’m not meaning it to! He’s 20 months so can’t talk for shit, but I wanted to make this point to emphasise why ‘cumbercap’ is funnier!

I literally have no idea who their owners are, other than reading the comments from the last 2 pages on this thread. Most people probably don’t read up on every team they decide to make a comment on, based on football romance.

I was just on the train from work in one of the 4-seat sections, and sat opposite me was an annoying little chav girl, probably mid-teens who spent the whole 20 minutes filming herself doing gang-signs while she played some rap music for the whole carriage to… enjoy. I was tempted to get off at an earlier stop, it was that annoying I couldn’t even concentrate on the podcast I was listening to, so had to blast my own music (in headphones, of course!) instead. The arrogance of youth!

I do this, but only when the person I’m emailing hasn’t responded after a couple of chasers. I think that’s fair. It’s not me saying “look we’re working”, it’s “oi, senior manager, the manager beneath you isn’t responding to something I sent a week ago, then again 3 days ago, so give him/her a kick”

I just watched the goal, expecting to see something amazing. I was disappointed. A run through a mostly empty pitch, two defenders try to tackle him and bump into each other, then he shoots fairly centrally which the keeper fails to get near. Importance of the goal aside, am I missing an obvious joke? I could score that. (on fifa, if my opponent had gone to get a biscuit and left the game unpaused)

And during all that, he contributed so little, and what he has contributed has seemed out of place, that he seems like a ‘worse player’. So I think it would be fair to say that although his career has progressed, he as a player has arguably become worse/less effective and his stock has dramatically dropped since the moment he joined City. -

I get it. The more elite players in the league, the stronger the league is. How crap was the Prem viewed a few years back when no English teams got past the group stages or the CL or the first knockout stage? The better the league is viewed, the better players the other 19 teams can attract (which means nothing for the top 4-5 who already attract the worlds best, but for the rest of us, it benefits us (until we play city, but then, is Haaland really going to be the difference between us getting something at City or not)). -
