  1. Well I almost put Roberto Carlos instead, but assumed people would get the point I was making, you cheeky monkey.
  2. I’ll tell you what @Delphinho123 knows... He knows all about signings that are due to happen on a Wednesday, but might not be this Wednesday or might not be a Wednesday based on UK time, or they might, or in fact they might not happen on a Wednesday at all, or even EVER. But you have to give him credit for thinking he knows something!
  3. I watched some “the breakdown” video about Buendia with Chris Reeve from Talk Norwich City and he said as much, that he has taken freekicks but it’s not really his strength area. (It was especially enjoyable because the Arsenal fan host was getting visibly excited). This feels like a component of the team that we’re really lacking in. With Jack and hopefully now Emi no.2 winning freekicks, we could almost do with a Pederson/ Hitzlsperger type to smash them into the goal. So that should be the task for any budding scouts out there. A DM (which a lot of people seem to want) who is a freekick specialist... easy.
  4. Live scenes from Norwich reporting
  5. I’ll admit that in the ‘Pereira or Buendia’ thread. I plumped for Pereira, but that takes nothing away from my excitement for this deal! I hope all the paper talk is true and that it’s essentially done. Having two magicians in our team is going to be ... magical! I’m salivating at the thought.
  6. If they’re not as tall as Peter Crouch then people think they’re shit, and must be the reason we didn’t win a game.
  7. Personally, Periera. Ifeel he has a bit more of a physical presence about him, and can give a more direct approach if needed. Buendia’s stats are great, but whenever I’ve watched him he’s felt very one dimensional to me. Not so much dribbling and attacking, but just silky passes. Admittedly I’ve not watched him a great deal! So maybe I’ve only seen him in average games where Norwich were pegged back.
  8. Me too. If they stick around then great, I’ll enjoy seeing them get some minutes like Ramsay has. But I personally think all could do with time away getting regular games. I’m seeing a lot of hype around Carney atm, which is great, but I think we also need to remember that he appears to have been playing way below his level in the U23/Development league or whatever they call it. On the few occasions I’ve watched him, I’ve thought he looked a bit slow and lightweight - albeit very talented! Barry seems to have good pace, movement and finishing, but he’s not going to get in ahead of Watkins, Davis or Wes, so again, let’s send him out. The other guys I haven’t watched enough of to comment fairly.
  9. Tbh, towards the end I lost sight of what my rank was. If I’d been chasing a league somewhere then I probably wouldn’t have brought in Pepe. It was very much a ‘what the hell’ pick. I’m looking forward to next season. I can’t imagine it’ll be half as mental as this one!
  10. I’m a bit disappointed with a 9th place finish after being 4/5th in our league for a little while. I’m blaming a few bad weeks where gambles didn’t pay off. The Pepe gamble worked for the last game though. Who’d have thought?!
  11. No way! So, hypothetically, if, when I was a teenager I used to ride my bike to Apollo Video, rent out a PS1 game, then ride it to my computer nerd uncle’s house for him to copy the disc and the covers, and then return the game to Apollo the next day, and ended up with around 80 copied games, then I’d be able to play them all?! Hypothetically. That bike ride was knackering, by the way. It took me about 3 hours.
  12. This all sounds like another language to me ...but it sounds good!
  13. It worked! I wasn’t expecting it to after what you said, but the little ‘mcboot’ memory card (for £8.99 :D) must have done some magic. I just clicked on the ‘PS1’ PAL option and D Derby PS1 is working, through a PS2 console, on a 2021 tele with HDMI inputs. The picture quality doesn’t look bad, to me. But I am a novice to this retro gaming in modern times thing. I’ll see if I can upload a photo. Edit: adding photo. And yes, my bedroom is pink Thanks Mrs Rob182.
  14. I have a 43” TV with a scart input in my loft conversion, so I can play it up there no problem. I’m just being fussy because we’ve got one of these daft super king size beds in the bedroom where a flatscreen TV appears, like magic, out of the bottom. I was just hoping to do some retro gaming in there, but maybe PS1 games on the PS2 will be a no-go.
  15. No scart. Unless scart has become something different I’m not aware of. I last had one on my TV about 6 years ago.
  16. Haha. And there’s me hoping the £8.99 memory card off eBay, loaded with random programmes would fix it I’ve got the old cables, I’ll just need to find a converter connector digerywhatsit that can go into my TV. I’ve been really impressed with the picture quality when playing my PS2 games. It’s not anywhere near as bad as I thought it’d be. It feels like I’m playing an old school machine in an arcade.
  17. Oh man. This is a bummer. I’ve got my PS2 set up in the bedroom on a new 43 inch TV. The PS2 games I’ve tried work fine with the HDMI-to-old-PlayStation-connection lead I bought. Me and my wife were looking forward to a game of Destruction Derby 2 (PS1) that I got off eBay, and it’s not working. The PlayStation loads like normal, and the game even starts to load (the PlayStation logo and sound comes on), but then there’s a white loading circle before the TV says ‘No Signal’. I’m guessing the TV isn’t agreeing with what the game wants to play. Graphics wise. Does anyone know any fixes for this? Edit: https://youtu.be/orfE_zx-LHk
  18. I saw someone on twitter say Southampton had one just a few years ago.
  19. I’ve already got triple LFC, Salah, Trent and Jota. But I actually think Jota isn’t going to play as much as the others.
  20. I’m not one to knee jerk react. But it’s 40 minutes after the announcement and I’ve just brought in 2 Man Utd players, with minimal planning for the blank gameweek, and took my total transfers this week to a -12.
  21. Christ. That’ll teach me for doing my transfers early. Now I feel like have to spend some points to get a Man Utd player in.
  22. I got 40 points from 9 players this week. Overall, not a terrible score, considering. Son, Christenson & Mendy really saved me. I’ve finally bitten the bullet and got Ihaenacho in!
  23. I can understand footballers (or anyone with obscene wealth) investing in property. The rental income looks like a pittance for them (which it is), but then the property is still a £50k-£200k asset that they can sell off if they need to, should the management gigs dry up or they have a financial disaster like their failed plan to become the next JK Rowling.
  24. A birmingham-born Man Utd fan I know said that the protests weren’t just because of money been taken out of the club, but also because of a lack of communication with the fans, putting prices up and the super league thing. I’d love it if the Glazers just thought “f*€k it!” and sold up, giving the club to 51% fans and 49% to some average owner that’s willing to give the fans majority decisions. They’d be begging for the Glazers again when the following season sees them spend £30m on transfers while doing these, apparently much-needed, ground renovations.
  25. The Killing is up there with my favourites. I really enjoyed those 3 series. I didn’t want it to end.
