  1. funnily enough when mentioning the shrinking icecaps in the Antarctic nobody mentions the East Antarctica Ice sheet that is growing at some volume ... it's still melting at a faster rate than it's growing to be clear though You obfuscatory tool! (Post-on-poster, I know)
  2. Why does the argument have to be about global warming anyway? The fact is that as a race, we've completely knackered vast swathes of the environment, deforested continents worth of land, filled oceans full of plastic and the rate of species extinction continues to grow (RIP Western Black Rhino). I'm no wooly liberal but the fact that the argument seems to only ever be about the melting icecaps seems like another deliberately obfuscatory tool.
  3. Or maybe complications with the number 1 candidate so they can't afford to rule you out yet?
  4. I'm not so sure, and i'll tell you why. Sherwood was a Fox appointment. If the new owners (who don't exist imo) are to get rid of Sherwood, it's instantly undermining Fox. So would Fox go too? If he does, then why on earth would he take the job in the first place? Or maybe Fox will agree to it depending on the replacement for example if it was a big name and almost certainly had a better CV then it's really a no brainer. All hypothetical of course but I maintain Sherwood probably isn't safe if a takeover happens. Anyway let's hope we do strengthen in the market because another relegation battle will just be awful. A boring mid table finish will do for me next season. Why are we presuming that Fox is going to be retained by any new owner (if indeed, they do exist)? I'd have thought there would be a fair chance of him being replaced.
  5. Bit of football-related stuff from the Labour manifesto. No idea how they propose to make it work but can't knock them for trying.
  6. More concerned about who goes out to be honest. But then, I'm just a pessimist.
  7. I take public transport to work almost every day.
  8. I've had my A5 for about a month less than you, Ben. 33,000 done already. And a nice big dent in the side panel as of Sunday when my nephew jumped out of his dad's car and smashed his door into the side of my car.
  9. If it's any help, I live in That Lundun and have both a 3g and a 4g fruit-based phone. I work centrally so you'd expect I get the best coverage going and I can spot no difference between the two. I guess it depends on how much you'll be downloading but in considering my upcoming upgrade, I am seriously considering sticking with 3g on my personal phone.
  10. Used to be a fan the first time around when Gary Imlach did the whole Channel 4 thing. Not bothered by it now so presumed I was near enough your target market and filled it in.
  11. A minutes silence for Benaud in Antigua. A short pause by his standards.
  12. All of Caterham's gear, up for auction: http://www.bidspotter.co.uk/en-gb/auction-catalogues/timed/caterham/catalogue-id-caterham10002
  13. Expecting a dismal performance on Saturday, I opted for Rugby instead. Lunch with one of the Directors of the club who turned out to be a proper gent, followed by a hugely exciting match which saw London Scottish continue their resurrection from the dead by clinching a playoff spot. Then I get home to see Big Chris(tian) had bagged us the winner over Spurs. What an excellent day.
  14. Just have someone accompany you and have them take notes too. That way you can ask that the minutes are agreed between both parties.
  15. 71% Plaid - Beth? 57% Green - No surprise 57% SNP - Ciod? 35% Lab - Much lower than I'd have thought 17% Lib - Shows how flawed these tests are - last one I did I was LibDem to the core -32% Con - Surprisingly high, for me -84% UKIP - Satisfyingly good score
  16. Princess Royal, most likely. Royal Oak is on the opposite side of the ground to the main entrance.
  17. the tenancy came up for renewal last week and the brewery wanted to jack the rent up .. got no takers so the pub is no more Planning permission already obtained for converting to flats apparently. Funny how most breweries seem to be reinventing themselves as property developers these days. So they now have a pub on 3 corners of the ground? Yup. Will be largely irrelevant in a year or two anyway, once they move to their new ground but it was always a nice little factoid.
  18. The Royal Oak pub in Brentford has just been shut down. If you know anything about Brentford FC, you'll know why this is significant.
  19. The same law of averages we apply against ManU?
  20. Then can I request that you please keep watching him.
  21. I think I lasted half an hour with Identity Theft. Really really hated it. I seem to remember vaguely enjoying Remember the Titans at the time. For it's type, it wasn't awful.
