  1. Aye, the writing was on the wall in January when Benham was going to stump up for several new players that the moneyball (which I presume is like a magic 8-ball) had shown would significantly improve the squad's chances of promotion, only for Warburton (allegedly) to scupper the deals. Sorry Stefan - was busy re-writing my post completely when you replied. Your point addressed in my edited post
  2. Bloody poles. Coming over here, taking our bus stops.
  3. I don't see the problem. His contract had expired, they offered him improved terms a few times and Jokanovic held out. They decided they'd reached their limit and looked elsewhere. As for the Brentford story, alluded to in the OP, again it's not reflective of what happened. It's hardly surprising, given the ongoing media "narrative" that's been peddled. Warburton has done a great job at Brentford but the owner, Benham has clear plans for the direction of travel for the club as a whole. This included the installation of a continental style DOF (not to be confused with an Irish style BOF) at this point in proceedings. Warburton had a one-year rolling contract, at his behest and when Benham said he was pulling the trigger on the DOF appointment, he gave Warburton the opportunity to stay under the new structure. Warburton declined, they both shook hands and Benham went to work on finding a new Head Coach (appears to be Marinus Dijkhuizen from the looks of it). It drives me cracker to keep hearing that Warburton was sacked. He took the job in the first place, knowing the direction of travel and when it got to a certain point, he jumped. Simple-as.
  4. If you think she's so far out of your league, there'll be an obvious reason why she's slumming it with you. My guess would be that she's got a willy. Or maybe I'm just presuming that because it happened to me, it'll happen to you?
  5. I'd love Pritchard but can't see any way that he'd be available. I've seen a lot of Brentford this season and he's been their standout player, particularly in the second half of the season. The trouble is he is still quite raw at times and makes poor decisions on occasion. He is very highly rated at Spurs though so I don't see them being interested in listening to offers.
  6. So, our number one royal fan is presenting the cup. Can't wait to see him holding the trophy with claret and blue ribbons on it.
  7. He's bigger than me and you and now he's making movies: Apparently this is his third film already!
  8. Oddly disappointing. A few good moments but seems very ramshackle. Can't decide if I like it or not: Love it:
  9. Quoted for future reference. No rings though - I want a full doughnut full of jammy goodness (which coincidentally is probably what we'll need to win!)

To be fair, he's got one thing right. Carragher is a nob.
  11. Which games did you watch in the preliminary rounds then?
  12. I'll be doing everyone a favour and staying away from Wemberlee. Any time I've ever been there (including my first visit as a ten year old to the 1984 FA Vase final - special thanks to Match magazine for the ticket!), the team I've been supporting have lost. I dream of being there when my team lifts a trophy but I'm so far past believing it's possible that I'll just watch it at home. I have a much better win percentage in my living room.
  13. I tried the iPad version last year. Lasted about two hours with it but it bored me to death.
  14. Anyone know if the match day programme will be available to buy online ahead of the day?
  15. You've got over it already? Clearly not a real fan
  16. Mine's permanently full of receipts for things that I'm going to claim back for work. That and cards. x2 credit and one debit card, petrol card x2, works credit card, RAC card, Oyster card, office pass x3 and a nectar card. Never any money though. I've so far managed to never lose my wallet although I did find a tenner on the ground coming out of an Alvechurch match when I was a nipper. I pointed it out to my dad and as I did so, my mate who I'd taken along, swooped in and grabbed it before I got to it. Never forgiven him.
  17. Was interested to see that as headline news this morning. I'm not saying that sites of historical importance aren't, well, important but it would seem to me that the slaughter, rape and murder of thousands just doesn't seem quite as high a priority.
  18. It was always and only ever about Hannah
  19. I saw him years ago playing a reserve game at Fulham (well, at Motspur Park to be precise) on a wet and windy Tuesday night. He took a slight knock in the first half and spent the rest of the match begging to be subbed. It was clear that all the staff knew he was putting it on so they refused to sub him off. He basically stopped working and kept griping all through the rest of the match. I think it was around that time that KMac said that he had all the talent in the world but that Andi was more likely to make it because even though he was much less talented, he was prepared to put in the effort. Looks like Nathan only has himself to blame. (A similar version of the above might well be found much earlier in this thread)
  20. I've never had a pair of headphones that lasted more than 18 months. It's almost always the jack that goes. I think I'm on to a winner now though as RHA gear comes with a 3 year warranty. I got their MA600i and apart from sounding great, they come with loads of spare buds. I'm not expecting them to last any longer that any other pair but I've carefully stowed the receipt and will be expecting to replace them free of charge before too long. Edit - possibly one for the boring thread, that one?

13? That's not way too many. I think at current count, I have about 65 pairs of footwear.

Eclipse, innit. Might just get a pair of them myself. *edit: page break fail
