  1. Godspeed! You Black Emperor tour this month has been postponed. Not surprising in the circumstances but still
  2. Raikhy and Dom Revan both confirmed now. We are seemingly pulling a lot back from loan aren't we? Sadly most have not worked out which is a shame as would be good for the players to get the minutes. U23 football does not really prepare players for 1st team football.

    U.S. Politics

What about through the back entrance via Alaska? DRUTWU?
  4. Happy New Year to you all Thank you all for for your posts, both the insightful and inane ones, all have been appreciated (save for a few in On Topic…). May there be more stupid threads to keep the sanity going on in 2022z
  5. From the AOTY post I put King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard – Butterfly 3001 Boris – W Zeal and Ardor – S/T Rolo Tomassi – Where Myth Becomes Memory Cult of Luna – The Long Road North Napalm Death – Resentment Is Always Seismic - A Final Throw Of Throes Sabaton – The War to End All Wars Porcupine Tree – Closure/Continuation Would also be looking forward to new Slipknot & Ghost as well. Knowing Metallica though @Ingram85 I would be very surprised if they released anything in 2022; they have been very slow to production for a long time. Just checking to see what else is there and there is also apparently due to come out: Atheist Autopsy Behemoth Candlemass Clutch Coheed and Cambria Conjurer Corspegrinder’s solo album Devin Townsend (Lightwork; Puzzle & Snuggles managed to just creep in to 2021) Insomnium Judas Priest King Diamond (F*** YES!) Korn Mercyful Fate (again, F*** YES) Municipal Waste Rammstein Venom Prison So yeah, it shouldn’t be a bad year!
  6. Ozzy Osbourne Marilyn Manson Mick Jagger Paul McCartney Donald Trump Going with the same again save for 1 substitution. Eventually this will score some points!
  7. If he’s been taking training and being in contact with the team then it’s likely that there will be a lot more positive cases in the squad - I can see this being postponed. I am certainly not keen on us being under strength against a Chelsea team that still has a very good 2nd string.

    Christmas 2021

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope everyone gets the day they want be it grand or small
  9. Burnley v Everton postponed now as well. Seems a bit daft to keep playing when it is clearly running through a number of different teams. Seems by the time it has been spotted it has already passed onto other people.
  10. So sorry a little later than planned. Work has unfortunately picked up a lot over the last few months so finding the time/energy to do this has been somewhat harder! What hasn’t helped is that there has been a flurry of late releases this year which has made me rethink a little! This is also a lot longer than I anticipated and I apologise to you in advance! I have spoiled the details as well to make it look a little shorter. So initially I had thought it had been a little bit of year that has not been so great. I think that this feeling has been exacerbated somewhat by bands that I love (Mastodon, Gojira, Iron Maiden in particular) producing albums I am not convinced meet their high standards. That being said, if they were made by any other band, it is very likely that I would think are awesome and I still stick them on, and they will be pretty awesome with some great songs on it. I think in particular with Mastodon and Iron Maiden, creating double albums have a real risk of being bloated and the great tracks get lost in the mess. Maiden with this album I think really struggle and are a good example. The album is 82 minutes; just a few minutes shy of being able to be put on 1 CD but listening to the album, they could probably shave a minute or 2 here of the songs and not lose the impact/feel of the song. The concept of “less is more” seems to have been lost. I do touch upon these later on and in fact I may in time go by come back to enjoy them more in the future so I do feel I may be somewhat unfair on them. So anyway, with that in mind and having revisited the year, there has some really solid albums that deserve a lot of praise and should be checked out. I’ve decided to instead do a Top 3 and a list of other stuff that really deserves to be listened to. 3. Converge & Chelsea Wolfe – Bloodmoon: I 2. Five the Hierophant – Through Aureate Void 1. Møl – Diorama So, those are my top 3 but by no means not the only records I have enjoyed this year. In relation to the honourable mentions, here there are in no particular order (some of these are definitely recommendations from here as well so thank you all!): - And as with last year, I ended up buying a lot of a back catalogue music as well… Whilst there was plenty I again enjoyed, these were a couple of choice records for me: - So, onto 2022. Already a number of releases very much anticipated for me: - And that is only those announced. Already some albums there I am really looking forward to. Hopefully another excellent year for music and one where we can actually get back to some normality with live music again. So the TL/DR version: Thank you to those that actually spent the time to read this! I really appreciate it!
  11. Well done on having the talk and and actually being honest with her. Usually ends up with getting the best outcome for everyone. But yeah good luck! Seems to be kicking off a lot quicker! Hope the baby and ex are OK health wise!
  12. 18,403 less voters generally than in 2019. 23,412 less Tory votes than in 2019. Pretty clear that the Tory voters didn’t turn up, but even so 5,009 more votes for the other parties still show a clear swing against the Tories in those that did turn up. Is there a chance that the country is finally turning on the Tories?
  13. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-59686090 Lockdown imminent then. Had booster this morning, took no time at all.
  14. I’m on 11. Took me to 59 before I had one though! (Godspeed You! Black Emperor). Clearly the list has been bombarded by fans of certain bands though.
  15. Whilst it wasn't an 80 seat majority, Labour did gain 146 seats in 1997 so it is definitely doable. The only chance for that happening at the moment is if the Tories completely implode over Boris and actually split and/or the backbenchers put in a vote of no confidence. Sadly I think it is more likely they will give him the push internally, blame all of the issues on him and Labour and then pull themselves together in time for the next election.
  16. That is without a doubt, the true definition of ugly for this thread. I don’t like you for posting it, I hate myself for actually watching the video.
  17. Sorry I missed Blom as we only had 1 support in Brum! Pigs x7 were on at 9 so nearly missed the start of them!

I think from the reports that they were in the same household. Obviously there will be a lot more coming out of this and in particular what, if anything, more the social services could have done. This however is a very nasty case and one that understandably is quite shocking, given what the poor kid went through I was a little surprised that she didn't get a whole life sentence in the circumstances. I wonder if the sentences may get reviewed. Edit - re the Millwall fans, I hope so too.
  19. Rough figures of 1st 11 (not including add ons etc.) Ederson: £35m Cancelo: £60m (part exchange included in figure) Zinchencko £1.7m (!) Dias: £61.6m Ake: £41m Fernandinho: £34m Rodri: £62.6m Sterling: £44m Mahrez: £60m Silva: £43.5m Jesus: £27m Total: £470.4m Every player that started bar Zinchencko and Jesus cost more than our most expensive signing (Bailey - £30m?). That’s not a bad “2nd string” which still includes your first choice goalkeeper and captain. That’s not including the bench we has a £100m player on it. Thought 1st half we were very poor and gave Man City far too much respect. 2nd half though infinitely better and such a better performance. Shame we couldn’t get the 2nd goal but glad they kept trying. Luiz in that 10 role could be a fantastic, he really was a star performer. VTID sung proudly by those who are VTID. To be honest he didn’t deserve any sort of reaction, he is now an opposition player who had a 5 minute cameo. Would have almost been funnier if the entire stadium just went silent but there we are. Onto Leicester and we can get the 3 points.
  20. Super quick tally suggests 85 Albums/EPs/Singles... Some stuff I had completely forgotten was released this year!
  21. Possibly one of my favourite threads every year. Not been able to post much recently (work getting in the way) but reading a lot. I will do a proper response over the next few days but I have to say up until recently not much had really stuck in mind this year, until a few recent releases have been very good
