  1. Kings and Queens is infinitely easier in child friendly song:
  2. Given the director, I suspect some of that will involve a whole subplot as the influence of the Sauron on Ringo's drumming.
  3. There's some good bands on that list. I am tempted by Gojira but would have to travel to your neck of the woods for it! You should also definitely check out Employed To Serve if you haven't already who are also supporting. With Sabaton you should go. First caught them back in 2007/8 and they were great then. The last couple of albums are a bit so so but they are still good fun live. Mind you I don't think I would bother travelling to London or Leeds for it. For me, I did have Pitchshifter and Lamb of God that were due to to be this year but both gone back a year. I also have Mol, Enslaved and Primordial off the top of my head for a fair chunk of Black Metal (ish).
  4. Yeah you definitely won’t get that at Svalbard tomorrow! They were excellent but more just f***ing delighted at going to a proper gig again after all this. Around 21 months as well for me, last one before this was Napalm Death in Feb 2020. Up next Pigs x7 on Thursday but I think that may be it sadly for this year as a few have cancelled or postponed until next year. Still good to be back! And I got to sing “Sweet Caroline” in the Holte End this afternoon too
  5. I hope you went last night and still planning to go on Sunday. I think we are getting to the stage where life is too short to not go out and enjoy yourself. I’m also seeing Svalbard tonight, which is the first proper gig I’ve been to since February 2020. Nearly 2 years without one has been absolutely heartbreaking so I am so looking forward to it! Just got to survive the Villa game beforehand but it’s going to be a good day come what may!
  6. Exactly. I know he has been a bit short of form this season but as a CB he has got a lot years in him still, especially given he didn't play as much when he was younger due to injuries. He is infinitely worth more than £40/50m whatever it is. For a young CB as White shows you can easily pay that for potential and we already have Swinkels and Bogarde coming through and Feeney in the U18s. We are far better off keeping Mings than selling him and allowing the youth players to properly develop. His experience and leadership will be invaluable. And it just pleases me so much that he has got an England goal now. I know it was San Marino but hopefully it'll get him scoring for Villa again - it's felt ages since either him or Konsa scored.
  7. So Rashica finally gets his move to Villa? Thank cod for that.
  8. All I can really work out is that a couple of people made the early assumption and the media have done the same. Then the echo chamber since then appears to be working in overload. Bookies just change the odds because money is being put on it, nothing more complicated than that.
  9. I know what shoegaze is, @chrisp65 was suggesting he wasn’t aware of it! But yeah goth for pussies sounds about right! Wait until people get introduced into Blackgaze!
  10. Thanks but not heard of shoegaze? That does impact on your music snobbery
  11. What’s the Dutch shoegaze? I’ll check that out!
  12. FTFY Martinez would be a really poor appointment. If we thought we were defensively dire now...
  13. Whilst I appreciate that Gerrard has done well with Rangers, the Scottish Leagues are not a good guide as to who can do well in the premier league. For every Rodgers or O'Neill, there's a McLeish or a Lennon. Gerrard could be a good appointment, but it would be a gamble and I am not sure I would be particularly keen on that and on paper at least, does not seem to be an "upgrade" on Smith to be honest. If it is him though, he of course gets my backing and I really hope he does well. However, if NSWE are determined to make Villa a top tier team again in the league, then the starting place will be getting a top tier manager and really look to appoint someone that you would expect Man Utd/Liverpool/Chelsea etc. to appoint. I accept that list does not seem that big at the moment but that is the ambition, we need to match it. Why not see if the likes of Zidane/Ten Hag/Koeman actually are interested? If you don’t ask you don’t get. For example, it seems that Emery will leave Villarreal for the right job, which we really could be and as we know he is a winner. To me the likes of Gerrard/Martinez (*shudder*)/Potter to me don't strike me to be at that level and we will inevitably need to upgrade in 3/4 years and would we end up being better off than we would have been with sticking with Smith?
  14. Possibly, but you still get your car repaired, otherwise you have a broken car
  15. If you haven't succumbed yet, this probably sums it up Whilst Castillo is very well acted, everything else just kind of feels meh to be honest and exceptionally repetitive. I've not found the ammo thing too much of an issue though still, the armour piercing still works pretty damn good for headshots so you still have good sniper capacity. It has also annoyed me that payed for the gold edition with the DLC included for the old game bosses and thought it would be good for both me and the wife to play it. However, because its Ubisoft, didn't realise that the DLC will only be open to 1 of us despite playing on the same PS5... I would definitely wait until it has come down massively in price. I suspect that you will be able to get hold of it through CEX for £15-20 by around Christmas.
  16. Yeah I'm more the other way round, but I know the Lovely Eggs have a fair few fans. They are support Pigs x7 in Nottingham next month as well.
  17. Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs with the Lovely Eggs covering Donna Summer's Hot Stuff? Sure, why not! Pretty badass to be honest!
  18. Agree with @mjmooney. You’re right about Oasis, although calling them a 2nd rates Beatles tribute band is more of a compliment than they deserve. Bit Nick Drake, whilst not my usual taste, is really great, just reading his name has got Hazy Jane II stuck in my head! Some great songs.
  19. Shame, presume though he would have other guitars, I was hoping that you were going to pull the plug on one of early gigs, saving the world from his mundanity.
  20. I don’t think I’ve heard this story?! What happened and why didn’t you just kill it and all of his ginger hair?! Ed Sheehan is probably a good shout out for overrated to be fair as @JoshVilla says, could pretty much be any open mic night. Feel the same way as Amy Winehouse. Just did not understand in anyway why she was so special. The Strokes always annoyed me that they got a reading headline slot with 1 album (although that in itself was outdone when the Darkness headlined the a year or 2 after). Don’t think it was the major influence for that type of indie music but certainly reminds me of all the student indie clubs that went to (which were infinitely better than the mainstream ones to be fair). Maybe they were one of the first of that reimagined garage sound but I always thought White Stripes were more influential, although I still didn’t particularly like personally. I have appreciated Jack’s label in recent years putting out some decent records though (Sleep, Earth, Boris), so that helps them.

  23. Yeah but it’s also available in Korean with English subtitles as well. Definitely worth a watch!
  24. Anybody else caught the Squid Game on Netflix yet? Very much enjoyed the Battle Royale feel to it.
  25. @Davkaus - definitely these 2 are good places to start. The earlier albums are interesting but probably a little harder to get into. Interesting covers though
