I will begin my journey in a couple of hours (10am). I live between Cambridge and Bury st Edmunds. Hopefully the A14 and M6 will be clear as everyone will be watching the world cup final !

Not really, just a feeling, but probably due to the fact I have never heard of most of these players that we are supposed to be interested in... !

Are Villa sending out signals that they are desperate to buy players to cover injuries or is this part of the grand plan during the Summer, having identified and to bring in new players before the window shuts? Just feels like a slight panic going on, I may be wrong (usually am!)

I think the ref should be the one who decides to look at the monitor, he should not be "told" to look by the corrupt VAR's people....its another excuse for them to manipulate the game. VAR should be a tool for the on field ref.... I hate VAR....its ruining football as a spectacle for me.....I may well decide to go and to watch Cambridge Utd or Ipswich next season instead (as long as there is no VAR's) There needs to be an independent review instead of the refs mates and their cohort supporting each other. The whole thing with VAR quite frankly stinks of manipulation and corruption and can be put in the same league as man c$ty. As has been mentioned its all down to money to favour the "sly teams" 0, 1 or 3 points at the end of the season can mean the difference between staying up and going down.

Feel the same way about Tyrone, but it's not just on the field he will be missed but off the field, outside football and Villa. He seems to be a very down to earth individual and has become the new face of Aston Villa, a great ambassador for us and I hope he can continue this during his recuperation and recovery back to full fitness.

Still think you need a leader to manage the defence and set up the offside traps......... ........talking of which does anyone know what the offside rule is, as I have no idea now. In my world at least one of their goals 3 were in an offside position when the ball was played forward....and yet they weren't in the eyes of VAR

You know there maybe a lot to be said for this as a tactic. Obviously as a team to take advantage of this you need to be a member of the sly scum 6 and everyone's second favourite club the "head choppers".....

The issue now is that selling clubs know that we need replacements for a third of our first team who are off with long term injuries, so they will inflate their prices.... Awful to lose Mings, we rely a lot on his vocal organisation on the pitch and without him where is the leader in our team?

Terrible news not just for the Villa and the new season ahead, but for Emi. Get well soon! Why is it always seems to be us?...Carlos last year after playing what was it 1 or 2 games? We don't seem to have "minor" strains we seem to have the full works i.e. out for most of the season etc. Only good thing is that the window is not closed, but ......selling clubs will sense our need to buy another player and up their price... Maybe this set back will open the door for one of our young stars to make their mark?

I remember last year my ST arrived at the same time as we were losing the opening game against Bournemouth where we were predictably truely dire thanks to the fraud we had in charge at the time. I nearly ran after the postman and said take it back I dont want it or I think you have the wrong address. Just goes to show what difference a year makes....
