  1. To be honest no professional footballer should be doing basic stuff like foul throws and encroachment when penalties are taken
  2. Was at the game but just watched the highlights and Ollie's shot that hit the post and rebounded of their keepers head was a sublime peice of skill to be honest and worthy of a goal.
  3. Would gresford fit in with the style of footy that Villa play now I wonder?
  4. I also park at Star City, it's free but can be a bit of a queue getting out onto the M6 but tell me where there is no queue of traffic after a game....
  5. I would say yes, it will be a red carpeted access tunnel that will ferry you via a sedan chair between the Holte Suite and the terrace view, and will only cost you £100 each way per game. After all this is what we voted for in the Summer survey ...........
  6. Like I said elsewhere, if it had been a liverplop, man you or man ci$y player fouled like Watkins then VARS check would have only taken a few seconds before awarding the penalty.
  7. I think that Spuds are playing better without Kane now........unfortunately. No idea where their added fergie time came from though to allow them time to win
  8. Was at the game in Upper Holte, regarding the foul on Watkins I was a long way from it, but looked like a definite pen tbh. If it had been liverpoo or man ci$y they would have taken only seconds to award it. I think VAR's were trying everything they could do to not give it, so credit to the ref to overturn it, a rare example of that happening these days. But ref was very inconsistent. Justice for us, if palace players and their keeper hadn't been so keen on wasting time for most of the game they would have won that...
  9. Just about to head off via Cambridge to pick daughter up who I managed to get a ticket for for today's game. Takes a couple of hrs to get to star city then 25 mins walk to VP from there. Normally arrive home about 1930.....
  10. Thanks Wainy, though I don't remember ticking the tick box, I hope can can opt back out if I can. Living near Cambridge means I dont go to all games and certainly wasn't going to go to this one. I think I will email or call the ticket office, mind you I will be at VP tomorrow so I could pop in and speak to someone
  11. I'm a bit confused, I'm a season ticket holder who was planning on skipping this game, as such I didn't purchase my seat or any other for this game. However I have woke up this morning to an email saying thank you for your purchase and they have taken £36.00 out my account. Any ideas what's going on here? Am I on some auto purchase scheme I didn't know about?
  12. Fingers crossed that SJM does not get crocked tonight in this game...
  13. I thought it said "Coldplay" for a minute........I was about to go on a full blown rant until I put my glasses on
  14. The squad he has named is utterly predictable. What has Maguire got to do to get dropped? Run over southgate's dog? The same old same old and as for selecting Pickford ..... Dreadful manager, risk adverse.....Safegate really is the right name for this idiot
  15. Bought my ticket but cannot go now, but the resale page does not show the Hibs game...
  16. It does annoy me to be honest because it appears that Claret Members do not get the chance to get the odd seat in the Upper Holte. My daughter is a member and she used to sit near me when the odd spare seat came up for sale. Not possible now esp for Premiership games. Would have been much better for everyone on the Upper Holte to have spent the money on updating the current facilities. Just gives me the feeling that its being marketed like a "Virgin Experience" package.
  17. We relied on "greasy" too much when he was with us, we cannot and should not rely ever again on one player. So if EMI is injured or suspended we have to have a reliable and confident keeper to step in, especially when we may have lots more games to play this year. Trouble is it's the catch 22, how does a fringe player get experience if he doesn't get the first team "experience"?
  18. We have as our manager one of the most experienced managers in 2 legged European football competitions ever in charge of the Villa, he knows how to approach this type of game.....
  19. I see from the Beeb's football page that mac Allister's red card has been overturned after appeal, what a surprise.....

  21. Don't want to make it worse for you I was in the upper Holte that night...it was mental ! I managed to get a ticket for my wife, it was her first time ever at the Villa and on the Holte....afterwards i told her it's never normal to beat a team 6 - 1. She's not been since !
  22. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12428219/Thousands-migrants-shot-pieces-killed-Saudi-border-guards-year-tried-enter-kingdom-report-claims.html Sorry it's from that paper...and I hope I have linked it correctly. If Villa were owned by the Saudis, it would be easy for me to walk away from Villa and football to be honest.
  23. Well if she didn't inject those poor babes with air or overdose them with insulin etc etc, then who did? It seems compelling evidence that she was the common link in all of these deaths or attempts to kill and harm, that's why they are looking at potentially others that she has killed
  24. Who would have thought, triangular cucumber sandwiches with no crusts on the Holte End...! Was the tea served in a China cup with a saucer?
  25. I am a "normal" ST holder in the upper Holte and I never heard or witnessed any chanting yesterday. For fellow Villa fans to do that to others is awful, and no way do I support that behaviour, but i wonder if it is just frustration at what has been done this Summer in implementing the TV and hopefully it was just a one off. There will always be options in life to pay more to upgrade, eg a front row ticket at a gig, business class air travel, 5 star hotels, or upgrade to the TV at the Holte etc and that's entirely a personal choice. For me to pay out the thick end of £700 odd quid for 19 home games a season, the minimum I would expect is clean facilities, quick turn around for food and drink and clean bogs. Yesterday the Holte End upper was a mess, no clean up after the builders and still queues for food and drink (I don't bother at half time). To not have this you have to pay another £500, I am sorry that is not reasonable and adds to the frustrations of fans. The Holte End in my view is not the place for "gentrification", it has been marketed like it is like a "Virgin" experience you can buy. I get the fact that the club want to make money out of us, but in reality how many TV tickets were available when they went on sale?, and take away 2 free drinks and a free program I don't think they are making a massive amount of money at this poor thought out venture. Two things, perhaps it will be scrapped next season or maybe the money raised by the TV can pay for a manager to sort out and improve the facilities that the rest of us non TV members have to suffer.
