St John's Wood -Play with Fire Also, same song has Stepney and Knightsbridge too
  5. I heard on radio this morning that they are being lined up for a billion pound takeover by the Qatari Government
  6. That article by the MC Fan is brilliant. Although I was one of the diehards on Monday, I feel just like most on here - fed up with it all. I used to go to every away game but last season and this have been selective. I am going to Burnley on Sat but that will only be my second away all season (Stoke being the other). You know what though, when we lose, I really don't miss the long trawl home. I am learning to do something else with my weekends. Unsure yet whether to renew next season either.
  7. Heard on Talksport this morning that there are stories that a big American consortium is interested in buying them now - (no-one interestedin us though evidently!) are Spurs even up for sale?
  8. Hmm that Everton game is also one of my most annoying moments because, as I recall, they had just equalised in injury time? I remember being there, kicking the chair in front (which was empty) and stomping off to the loo before the journey home - only to hear an incredible roar go up from the stands - it was so loud that I presumed they had scored the winner! The people I was with have NEVER let me forget it - apparently Martin Laursen and Co ran and celebrated right in front of where we were!
  9. Charity Shops - aren't they annoying. Trying to give a wall unit away - good condition - one comes to collect it and declines as there is a minute chip in the corner - which you wouldn't even notice- in fact I never even knew it was there! "Our clients want top quality goods" they say - oh yeah, when I was in the shop, there were leather suites with badly scratched and scuffed seats - sure top quality that is - scratched furniture. I tried another one "has the glass got the kite mark" err no, it's about 20 years old and it's a wall unit to display stuff in! Oh no they can't have it then! Anyone know any way I might be able to give it away - it's too good to take to the tip. I have found something called Handsworth Project that I might try. Irritating though, as I needed it out the way by tomorrow as I have a new piece of furniture coming!
  10. I reckon he's shaved it off so that he can grow it again for Movember maybe

    Top 10 Albums

Mine are either albums that meant something to me at the time or I have discovered later on. A quick first try gives:- Bowie - Ziggy Stardust Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon Fleetwod Mac - Rumours Kate Bush - Hounds of Love Jam - All Mod Cons Beatles - Abbey Road - athough hard to choose just one album - honourable mention to Rubber Soul too Rod Stewart - Never a Dull Moment Queen - Sheer Heart Attack Who - Who Sell Out - again hard to choose one so honourable mention to Who's Next too Al Stewart- Love Chronicles Honourable mentions to Electric Warrior by T-Rex, Misplaced Childhood by Marillion, Harvest by Neil Young, Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens and Led Zep II WIll probably think of at least one mega omission as I've come up with these whilst at work! EDIT - Mega Omission one - Songs for Beginners by Graham Nash - Love that Album! Prob put it in instead of Rod and make him an "honourable mention"
  12. I saw in the paper yesterday that Stuart Pierce is after him on loan for Nottingham Forest
  13. Huge debate about the book on Talksport this morning! Bozzie came on and stuck up for Roy Keane though . He's has his say about Fergie apparently but Bozzie says Keane would never have said this if Fergie hadn't struck first and that Keane is only using his right to reply. A lot of quite controversial stuff in the book apparently.
  14. Just found this thread. I live in Yardley (although I didn't grow up here). It used to be quite nice, and it mostly still is, quite pleasant - apart from some areas. However, it is definitely going downhill . I live in an Edwardian Terraced House in quite a nice road - but next door but one to me is a house that was bought about two/three years ago by a "Landlord" who converted it to individual "rooms" and the lowlife that rent these rooms have to be seen to be believed. I am sure there is drug dealing going on regularly. The landlord doesn't care one jot - as long as he gets his rent (which I am sure is paid by DSS) - the turnover of Tenants is remarkable too - no-one seems to stay too long. It has really ruined my stretch of road. The police are often called out to the house too. I think my own house is quite nice as I have spent quite a lot making it so, and the majority of homeowners by me are decent, hardworking people who also care about their homes - but I seriously wonder whether it's worth bothering to do mine up any more!! I too harbour dreams of moving to Devon or somewhere by the sea.
  15. Did anyone see Alesha Dixon on Piers Morgan's Life Stories the other night? She really glossed over the bit about her going out with Carew and seemed reluctant to talk about it (as if she didn't like him). Anyway, apparently, Carew is on Soccer AM this Saturday morning
  16. Hope they don't decide they need to buy Vlaar
  17. Newcastle sold out their allocation 2800 I believe - so we managed just over 27500
  18. Paranoid was great. Please keep it as run out music. Unique to us. Agree no music when we score though (not that we would hear it much)
  19. Yes, and I renewed my ST on the back of this stupid belief too!
  20. Boo!. Was hoping for an away game on 30th August as have a big family do to attend that day. Hope Sky switch it - although unlikely to pick that game I would think! Little enthusiasm for the season at present anyway though. Hadn't even realised that the fixtures came out today
  21. Same as me - and those days were nowhere near as mind-numbingly crap as now. Although half the problem is the "Preeeeeeeemier League" age. It's killed football stone dead. Last time we won the league, one of any 8 or nine clubs had a shout. These days it's the same old boring bollocks winning it all and getting all the TV exposure. It's a yawnfest. As for the comment above "what else is there to do on a Saturday", I'll say a) Loads of things and b ) Saturday? we actually play on Saturday? Rob's quote is exactly how I feel - in my case it was my older Brother who first took me to Villa - I've seen good and bad but I've never felt so despondent about them as I do now. I am seriously wondering whether I could get a refund on my season ticket renewal! Every day, the news just seems to get worse and worse. There's no take over in sight is there - let's just face it! .
  22. I renewed mine last month (on the day of the Swansea game) - even though we hadn't secured survival then, I was nevertheless all excited at the thought of us having a new dawn. I wish I had held on for a bit now!
  23. Think we missed Super Marc too - I hadn't realised he was injured? I know he was subbed off on Sat . Let's hope he and Gab are back for Sunday - don't want another embarrassment - will be glad when this season's over!
  24. I did mine on Saturday Morning (so that I could get the ten per cent cash back) - mind you I did have some regrets after the result - but I suppose if we do go down, we will at least get mostly 3.00 pm Saturday games and maybe win some!
  25. Asked my passengers for the drive to Man U to arrive at my house for 8.45 (leaving plenty of time), arrived late, we set off at 9.20 so I took the toll road to make a bit of time up. Stopped briefly at Knutsford, left motorway around 11.00 - hit a bit of traffic on A556, eventually cleared where a lot of traffic takes the M(whatever it is) into Manchester, we stayed on A56 as we always do when going to Man U. 11.30 , hit some traffic on the A56, stationary. 12.45 game kicks off, we have moved about 2 miles. Have, in the intervening period asked several people if it was worth just parking and walking but they said we were about 5 miles away. Lots of traffic turning round, we decided to give up and do the same. Heading home, hear Villa take an early lead on radio, find a Pub to watch, whilst parking, hear Man U equalise. Have a nice lunch in a nice pub (George & Dragon in Altrincham) whilst watching on BT Sport. See it go to 3-1. Leave pub at 80 mins and head home - no delays - back in house for 4.30 Sulky passengers for trip home ! Let them off the petrol money (stupid me!) so all in all a waste of lots of money . Apparently a lorry had overturned up ahead. I don't think even had they delayed the kick off the people of the same road as me could have got there in time . Fed up with Villa, fed up with Benteke being over hyped, when he is good, he is good but it's not often enough. Fed up with most of the team, Lambo, fed up with Lerner. Fed up with Football. Will I renew my ST next season - yes I guess so Haven't even seen Westwood's goal as I didn't watch MOTD Signing off - thoroughly hacked off with it all. Watch us lose to Fulham on Saturday now.
