It's almost like Mourinho has become a weird parody of himself over the past few years.

Guess that's what happens when you start believing your own bullshit.

He's gone full Ricky Gervais in that respect.

Never go full Ricky Gervais.

I'm not surprised he got a new deal. Who else are they going to appoint?

Benitez?

Mourinho has them in 2nd. Guardiola has the stronger, deeper squad, with more cohesion and playing time amongst each other (for the better players).

People like Fergie don't come around too often. Man United isn't a shoe in to find the next one either.

Mourinho suits them fine. He may even win the Premier League or Champions League with them.

Does Guardiola walk/cop the sack if City don't win the Champions League too?

Lot more proactive managers available

United went for quick win option that has backfired

Jose’s mandate was to get them back in the CL which he did.

Now although it’s a huge gap he has them sitting second to what everyone agrees is a far superior squad.

The powers that be know that they can replace JM and end up back out of the big time like in the recent past. 2nd/3rd every year plus a few cup runs would suit them I think.

Theyd only sack him if he was failing to deliver CL football (money).

Mourinho's league record at St James Park:

04/05- Newcastle 1-1 Chelsea
05/06- Newcastle 1-0 Chelsea
06/07 Newcastle 0-0 Chelsea
13/14- Newcastle 2-0 Chelsea
14/15- Newcastle 2-1 Chelsea
15/16- Newcastle 2-2 Chelsea
17/18 Newcastle 1-0 Man United

Think him staying at Man. United is our best chance of ending our hex against them as his record at Villa Park is nearly as bad.
