Pochettino didn't speak English when he first arrived, and he's done pretty good.

He did, just not to the media.

He speaks very good English and always has done but for some reason chooses to hide the fact.

Good way of ignoring unwanted question from the press if thats the fact.

Yes I suspect that is it, or its his way of avoiding being stitched up over a quote.

Either way his English is good.

Pocchetino insists that all foreign players at the club communicate in english but gives the old 'english is bad' line. Capello was the same regards his lack of english stance. By all accounts his english was always very good. Unfortunately the squad at his disposal either were too illiterate themselves or thick as shit to understand.

Nope he can speak good english but his accent is so thick it's not easily understandable. That's the difference. Same goes with Gabby. Edited by stewiek2

capello's english was ok, however it didnt really appear to get any better (which is probably due to stewiek2's explanation regarding his accent)

capello is a good example, the press used his english as a chance to constantly mis-quote him, take things he said out of context and generally berate him, and even worse use it a scapegoat for our world class superstars under performing

every time we were shit the excuse of "its because of capello's english" came out, no we were shit because we're shit...

pocchetino doesnt give them the chance

By the end he was ok at English but before that he was shit and had to use a translator.

Most foreign managers in the Premier League I would say are very good at English.

You look at Italians such as Ancelotti and Mancini and they were much better than Capello.

Wenger speaks OK (although quite pathetic level after living in this country for 15 years!)

Wenger's English is good (as is his German, I believe); I just think he hasn't worked especially hard on pronunciation/toning down his French accent, believing, rightly, that he can get across his POV well enough with the accent he has.

Edit: 'his' to 'he' (funny how you only spot the typo once you've pressed post)

The way he has been sacked has summed up his time there for me. Badly done and he leaves with no dignity.  Moyes is a decent manager but was out of his depth at United and in the end the board have not backed him rebuilding the team and in chucking out the experienced players who clearly do not rate him. Ferguson will not have a say ever again on the managers at Old Trafford now- this is down to him.

Ferguson should not have been the guy to choose the next manager in the first place.

United will now put this season behind them and move forward - probably with Klopp or Van Gaal, and will be a strength again.

Now officially sacked....

TBH, as hilarious as his tenure was I don't think ManUre's position is entirely down to him.

Fergie left with an aging squad that was never likely to retain the Championship without him at the helm.

Also, allowing their CEO to leave at the same time as AF was a poor move as there was no continuity at the club where transfers were concerned.

The new guy who came in was as out of his depth as Moyes at a big club IMO and his failure to secure Moyes' transfer wishlist early in the window was always going to make it difficult.

Another straw was AF was extremely lucky getting a whole season out of RVP (who was instrumental in last season's title) whilst Moyes has had to endure the regular 'crocked' version but with added lack of form.

Moyes knew it would be difficult and I do feel for him as he hasn't been given a fair crack of the whip - whatever happened to ManUre backing their managers as they had crowed about earlier in the season???
