Remember me moaning about not getting my promotion but still having to do the job for months but not getting paid extra?

Yeah well it's started. And its hard, and busy and long.

Feel a bit of a mug to be honest.

Oh and Andy Townsend saying "Go on!" every time Arsenal go forward.

noticed it when cazorla hit a free kick, hit the wall and neuer started scrambling, townsend obviously didnt realise neuer was scrambling to try and save the corner and shouted "go on!"... went about 8ft wide

Had a pretty shit week and this should piss me off, even though it's not the right thread it's the closest one. Lost about £1800 last week on a potential money making idea. I was a bit suspicious of it all before getting involved and knew it was a gamble, but thought "**** it, got to be in it to win it"... now it's all gone and I'm annoyed at myself for having such a stupid mentality. I'm so bad with money. Oh well, lesson well learnt I guess.

Ponzi scheme?

Nah, was another type of fraud. not one that I was aware I was part of at the time.

Why are you doing it?

I may have missed the initial post. Sorry.

laryngitis fool

Ice cream. Although when "Ice cream" it's more of a self-inflicted sore throat than laryngitis.

Seriously Baselayers, I told you: gin. Gargle it and it will kill all bugs. And get you pissed.

Gin flavoured ice-cream.

In short:

In line for a promotion.

Supervisor left.

Boss wanted me to get that job as my promotion.

Red Tape stopped me from doing so.

New person they're getting in can't start for 3 months (by which time I'd have been through the red tape!)

So I'm covering in the interim.

Still going to get promoted, just to another role, so can't really say no to covering this job or it would reflect badly and might not get my eventual promotion.

The silver lining is that covering a job that is a grade above me for 3 months will guarantee I get promoted (assuming I don't balls it all up, but I won't) and should get me a very good performance review. But just makes me a feel a mug in the meantime, purely for the reason that I think you were implying "why am I doing it?"

I'd love to have told them to shove it. But like I said I can't really!

Ah, right.

That's a shitty position to be put in. It'll be worse when the new person starts and you're still waiting to be promoted to another role, too, won't it?

Yep, exactly.

I'll basically be handing the job over to her, and then she'll be expected to be my supervisor.

She's external as well with no company knowledge, and our team is quite specialist, so it'll take her months to get up to speed.

It's a ridiculous situation to be honest.

Really pissed of at the moment but more with myself for being so **** trusting. Should have just continued to hate the human race and stayed a recluse.

Stated before that my mobile was broken so I saw one on Ebay I quite liked. I contacted the seller who had only four feedback but no reds and asked him would he accept my offer of £200 to end the auction early. I don't use Paypal as they are money grabbing leaches so I asked the seller would he accept bank transfer. Of course he say yes as it cut the fees for him.

Paid him through bank transfer on Monday and he sent me a message on the Monday night that he would send the phone to me by 1st class post signed for on Tuesday afternoon. Guess what, checked Ebay on Tuesday afternoon and found that his auction had disappeared. Then checked his account and guess what, his Ebay account had been closed.

Went straight to my bank and asked them to do a chargeback on my bank transfer payment to the seller. Sorry we don't do chargeback on bank transfers. What!!!

Sleepless night last night and then a call to a consumer rights. They told me that as I had used a Visa Card my bank should have charged back the payment even though legally they are not liable. Then advised to contact the financial ombudsman which I did who said that I had due cause for complaint and they have sent a letter to my bank asking them to chargeback the payment. This I'm told could take up to 8 **** weeks to sort by which time the slime of a seller will have probably closed his account which I have made the original payment to.

Also sent a email to Ebay who will do **** all as I didn't use Paypal but I have asked them to provide me with the address of the seller as I'm now taking this to the Police.

The guy has went to a lot of trouble for £200 and if I can get his address then it won't only be the Police who will be visiting him.
