brommy Posted May 23, 2013 Share Posted May 23, 2013 One could also wonder whether PL and RL would have a tiff if RL was willing to refuse a decent offer in the hope that PL would build around CB next season, but PL fancied giving it another go in the transfer market with the cash. Found this from twitter links, Sun: CHRISTIAN BENTEKE is set for further contract talks with Aston Villa. Villa are keen to reward their £20,000 a week top scorer a bumper pay rise. Tottenham, Manchester City, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund all want the 22-year-old who scored 23 goals for Villa in first Premier League season. Benteke, who has three years left on his current deal, will hold talks when he returns from the USA where Belgium play on May 29. Meanwhile Stiliyan Petrov will take his first steps into coaching next season as Villa’s assistant development coach. The 33-year-old Bulgarian will act as No 2 to former midfielder Gordon Cowans in bringing on the cream of Villa’s kids. That statement indicates that he has clearly been speaking with PL who has told him to think about the World Cup in Rio & to unsettle his career now could put his place in the Belgium team at risk potentially.... Benteke has countered that by saying he's not worried about that... Or in other words, "I'm off". As for the club keeping him against his will?.....Really?... History shows us he'll be gone. So...
