sexbelowsound
Nobody said all players. I'm talking about one, Bacuna, who I think given a consistent run of games in an attacking position would flourish. I'm not suggesting he'll become a world beater, Albrighton certainly isn't one, but he'd be better than what he shows here.
AVTuco Posted December 24, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted December 24, 2015 (edited) Bacuna offers an offensive threat. Something we're desperately lacking. He's not a world beater, but he definitely has more than just athletic qualities. Edited December 24, 2015 by AVTuco
DCJonah
He's back up lb/rb for the worst team in the league. I think there's clear reasons why that's the case. I've seen nothing from him to suggest he could consistently perform as an attacking player.

AVTuco Posted December 26, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted December 26, 2015 Switch Bacuna to the right side Remi. Then Hutton to the left or bench. I kind of feel sorry for Leo switching foot when he should be crossing, only because he has to fill in on the left. He has a great shot and good cross in him. We need that, but he can't use it on the left.
Czechlad
He has done really quite well defensively. I like him. I'd much rather have him on the right where he obviously feels more comfortable. His crossing talent is wasted on his left.
OutByEaster? Posted December 26, 2015 Moderator Share Posted December 26, 2015 Fair play to him for the effort he's putting in - he's been brave in wanting the ball and he's working hard, he's not quite top drawer and he's not a left back, but you have to say he's making every effort to fill in for us.
New_Jersey_Villa
Has done much better than I expected in the LB role. It's just a crying shame he has to cut back onto his right to get a cross in. Can't fault his efforts or endeavour though, had a really good game today. WooJung
Always suspected he'd still be a better LB than Richardson. That's not saying much, as Guzan would probably be a better LB than Richardson...
ozvillafan Posted December 27, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted December 27, 2015 Thought he was diabolical for the first 30 minutes, including getting a yellow. Ended up being the more solid defensively of our two fullbacks.
Jay.P.A
Out of everyone who started the game today, I thought Bacuna did really well. Was strong in the tackle, passed the ball well, and carried the ball forward a few times which pushed Sunderland back. Had a couple of shots as well, unfortunately couldn't get them on target.

One of the only players we have that actually looks like a "Villa player", if that makes sense. Majority don't look like they care, or don't belong to the club. Bacuna looks like he came through our youth ranks or something. Hope we keep him, I think he'll be a very good player in the Championship.

Never hides and is willing to play anywhere for the team.

He is technically decent, he is physically decent, all around just a solid player. Won't win the Ballon d'Or anytime soon but I don't think any of us expect that from him. samjp26
Funny actually because if Jack had Leo's attitude/workrate, he'd be one hell of a player! Based on games alone which one would you assume to be the Villa through-and-through born-and-bred lad?
AVTuco Posted January 2, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted January 2, 2016 Agree fully with the couple posts above. He has more quality than most our players.

Lord Willard
Our best player today. Looked a threat going forward, can shoot and play a killer pass. Shame no ones wants to run behind their defence.
