Charles N'Zogbia

He's a wildcard option. He may not be Lambert's cup of tea but he'll have to manage him, given the limited investment we are expecting this summer. Same as Bent and Hutton. We can't sell them, and we will be paying them, even if they are difficult, we might as well use them.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is of the opinion that Charles N'Zogbia can be a “big” player for his side in the upcoming campaign.

The attacking midfielder, who has been out of action for 12 months after suffering a serious Achilles tendon injury, returned to training with the rest of Villa's first team players on Monday.

And Lambert has backed the Frenchman to play a vital role for Aston Villa in the 2013/14 season.

"Charles has come back from his injury and is looking pretty good", the manager told his club’s official site.

"I thought he looked pretty good considering the injury he has had. His injury was a really bad one. But he looks really good at the minute.

"He is doing great. Charles can definitely be a big player."

Lambert went on to add that defender Jores Okore, who picked up a crucial ligament injury last season, is looking “great” after taking part in full training.

"Jores also looks great", he added.

The manager signed off by explaining that he was also pleased with the progress of long-term absentees Christian Benteke and Libor Kozak.

"Christian is still doing his rehab and Libor is training on his own. The two of them are doing really well.”

He has many many faults but in our present situation well worth another chance.

One of the few in our squad who can pick the ball up in central midfield and ran at back 4s...even if he loses it most of the time. Just having a bit more pace in the team will help big time though.

That's just how bad Tonev was as it seems people are having fond memories of N'Zogbia!

I would love to see the player play like he did a Wigan but all we have seen a really miserable and bad player since he signed and I doubt 12 months out will have cheered him up.

Still even the tea lady is a step up on Tonev so stuff it I'm in, go Charles go!!!!!!
