Its your opinion. But how is he a disgrace to himself as a person? For somebody to be described in that way, they must have done something really horrendous. Your next line, " A loud minority see through it, think and say what they mean", doesn't that imply that a loud minority are speculating? Honestly, not having a go at you, I just want to understand your thoughts. You've already lost.
TheStagMan
Its like groundhog day again on here. I cant be bothered repeating myself again and again. Cannot understand why some fans are so obsessed with forgiving Agbonlahors behaviour. It makes not sense whatsoever. Go back and read old posts, they summarise very well why Gabby should not be in a Villa shirt or anywhere near Villa Park ever again. I am very disappointed by Bruce giving him another chance, but have to trust that he has a plan. I hope that plan involves using Gabby ans he has used us, and that at the end of the season we throw him away like he deserves. I have little doubt that if Gabby manages to weasel his way back into the team as a first choice, he will revert to type and let himself, Bruce and the fans down YET again. Unfortunately that will be bad for Villa, which is why I dont want it to happen.

I knew what the next steps would be, went from making the basal premise of the original post that "I have not even heard him apologise" to "|MINIMAL APOLOGY". LMAO!!! What is a MAXIMUM apology, how do we grade this? However, I know that none of these things really matter, as you lot are just like Fox News for Republicans and CNN for Democratics. Some of you just hate the guy and it wouldn't make a difference if he started farting rampant lions and AVFC badges. It is actually kinda funny. And some people, actually, let me rephrase. And you would still support him if he came round to your house, asked you to get all your villa shirts and any related paraphernalia and place it all on your bed along with any tickets, matchday programmes and anything else you've spent money on over the years and proceeded to unzip his trousers and piss all over the lot of them. Because that, in effect is what he has done anyway, he's made a mockery of our club (allegedly his club but we all know that to be bullshit) and honestly, I'm not going to go as far as to say I wouldn't celebrate a goal (if he ever manages to score one again) because first and foremost it's Aston Villa scoring, whoever scores it is a secondary concern for me, but there's nothing he can do to redeem himself in my eyes, I guess I'm just not that fickle.

Popular Post Grasshopper
@JAMAICAN-VILLAN Yo - Hi maybe I can explain a bit of the Phsyce thats behind my and maybe others distain for GA. I grew up in Great Barr, which is within walking distance of VP. As a kid growing up in the late 60's & 70's it was a bit more natural to support your local team and ManU & Liverpool fans were the ultimate glory hunters at that time. (George Best - Shankley....etc). (Just imagine all the talk, family, friends, schoolmates, all the local newspapers and TV channels focusing on YOUR local team - Every day, every matchday, every season year after year. As a fan you take it all in and it becomes a part of your repetoire of living) It was everybodys dream, including mine, to play football for your boyhood club (even in Div 3). Very few actually achieved it so when you dont achieve it yourself, you have an almighty respect for someone who does. Now back to Gaby. He had the chance to make a career in doing something that a fan dreams of. A fans passion of giving every little bit of his heart and soul in supporting his club is not to be underestimated. The demands of a fan is 100% devotion & commitment. Anything less is simply incomprehedable. Gaby WAS a speed merchant with very limited football ability and lacked a certain amount of understanding of football (not much of a Football brain) Despite, all this he managed to, deservedly, carve out a career in football at AVFC. However, when Lerner decided to pull the plug, AVFC and its fans needed someone to step up and fight for the club, set an example, give that 100% dedication, devotion and commitment. Now, hear this, I'm not accusing Gaby of failing at this, because if its not within the make up of the man, the man wont do it. So I can not and will not critisize him for this. BUT, to give up gradually season after season while eeking out a paypacket and status within the club is simply not on. When a person, in whatever field of work he is in, lets himself go to the point that he is incapable of being fit enough to do his job, then IMHO that is a person being a disgrace to himself and his family, whilst showing contemp and a lack of respect for his field, employers, work mate and any supporting cast be it fans or sponsors. Our nose-dive and resurgence over the last 50 years means that a lot of fans have seen both good and bad times, unfortunately some younger fans have only witnessed shit. But we live in the now, and the not too recent now was challenging for 6th. slowly we've become shitier season by season untill the horror of last seasons relegation. A relegation of a greater impact and more pain than the last 2. Gaby has been here during the good and still here for the bad. He showed nothing in trying to set an example for others to follow and has held himself to be worse than the likes of, The snake, Lescott (takes some doing), N'zog, Richards and many shit performers like Guzan, Hutton, Sanchez, Westwood, Sinclair and a few more. For all this, Some fans, and they may even be a minority, find it all unacceptable and incomprehendable. For "US" we find it unbelievable that other fans are prepared to see past all of these failings in performances and attitude on & off the field and are willing to give him a chance when we feel that Gaby has passed his sell-by date and for all his acts of contempt is the last person to deserve one.

Thanks Grasshopper. At least I understand your disdain, and you know what, that's fair enough. I have supported a lot of your posts in the past, but this particular issue wasn't clear to me. As I have stated in posts looong ago, I believe he is no longer at his best and he has wasted his prime, but I found it hard to comprehend the contempt for Gabby. I actually believe that some of the knuckleheads you have mentioned have been worse than Gabby, most particularly Delph. I still think Delph is worse though. I have no smart ass comment or meme for you, as you have made your feelings clear. Whatever happens, lets just hope it works in Villa's favour. TRO
This thing with Gabby is like having a lease on a car having to pay for it because its under contract, but you don't like the car. .....you might as well just use it otherwise its like cutting off your nose to spite your face. If they will take it back fine, get another one, but they won't....so drive it. Ps However , I do understand the fans that abhor him. VillanousOne
the trouble is for whatever reason right or wrong Bruce has given him another chance and he is still wearing the shirt, so not sure what the point in arguing amongst ourselves is, of course everyone is entitled to an opinion, no-one forgives him or forgets recent years, can't think many of us would have been sad for him to leave, but he didn't so what is the alternative? Boo him every time he walks onto the pitch? It's worked wonders for Westwood's confidence hasn't it! Decent post. Can't accept putting him in any category near Delph, Nzogbia, Lescott, Richards etc. as it is an extremely far stretch to think he cares less about the club than those. Guzan, Hutton, Sanchez, Westwood, Hutton I can't say much about because they are "nice guys" and have been nothing but professional, given no trouble. AGAIN, it is in no coincidence that his performances and motivation dipped along with the decline of the club. ALL of Gabbys supporters, even, at his best acknowledged his limitations, as we had to deal with them week in, week out. So basically, because he did not become the HERO character one would expect in a Boxing type movie, he is a disgrace? You realise that they are humans just like everybody right? Are we conveniently forgetting that he has not been the first footballer (and won't be the last) to fall of "body wise", and that even TOP players have been accused of this at times? ( I am not saying I agree with it in any way) I am simply not willing to write off his contributions to the club, and castigate a player in the manner he gets it, as he has actually done alot more positive in his time here, than he has negative. If you look back through the thread, there are times when even I said he was done here etc. We have had these conversations a billion times. I have also said that, it could go two ways, either he fails, or the fact he has now realised he is not indespensible was the rocket up the ass he needed and has brought him down to earth. I will also NEVER cosign some of the over dramatic nonsense about "Not celebrating if he scores", "Not interested in games he plays" and I don't think you realise how absolutely pathetic and petty some of those things seem. If we weren't in an age of Mass Media, where absolutely every snippet of a persons life is public knowledge, most people wouldnt even care and the hysteria wouldnt be warranted. I am sure you would probably be shocked if some of your past time "Heroes" skeletons were exposed as everything is in the modern age. Brits and Americans, media especially have an awesome knack for trying to tear people down. I cringe every time I see headlines in the Daily Mail like "Rapist Ched Evans goes to coffee shop with girlfriend". I have started to realise it must also reflect a part of the culture there. How long can you hold grudges against a FOOTBALLER for personal life mistakes ffs. I would hate to know how some of you deal with family and/or friends! In the end it all comes down to if you trust the manager or not ffs, if he can't contribute he wont play, If he can, he will. I don't see why anything more should realistically be up peoples arses at this point to be honest. At his best he is more than capable at this level, Let's at least give the man a fair crack at it ffs. Your argument here is flawed....certainly in my case when you assume that any success displayed by gabby in a villa shirt in the future will go anyway to me forgiving him. It won't. It doesn't matter whether he scores a hat-trick every game from now until the end of the season, I will have zero interest in the bloke nor will I want him anywhere near the first team. What about the managers who played gabby? who he performed piss poor for..... we're they right like you suggest Steve Bruce is? Fwiw, I couldn't give a **** what Steve Bruce says/thinks. We don't have to bow down to his every breath.
