It was always going to be hard for Man City to have large attendances given the club they share a city with. If they were in London then they would get more tourists and day trippers but that's much harder in Manchester. Also any casual football fan anywhere near Manchester is going to be a man united fan for obvious reasons. It's one of the reasons I found it strange city were selected by the Arabs for their project in the first place. Why not buy another club somewhere else, or dare I say it one Aston Villa F.C. Buying a club that shares a city with the biggest club in the world seemed an odd choice.

It goes beyond the city too. All the town's immediately to the west of Manchester, which is an incredibly densely populated area, are the same distance from Liverpool as they are from Manchester so the catchment area is cannibalised. They do really well considering, though it will take another ten years before the gloryhunting school kids who picked City because they win everything will have the money in their pocket they need to be able to attend matches.

2 year Champions League ban for breaching FFP

Is this over the owners giving money to other companies to sponsor them to generate fake income?

I'd find it more funny if there was a chance this will actually happen, suspect it will be changed to a suspended ban after an appeal

Does this mean that 5th place will now get you a champions league spot? Could Sheffield be in the CL next year :P

Funnier now if they won it and couldn't defend it 😂

It's the application of a set of rules written to favour a certain type of rich team over a different type of rich team being badly enacted by an incredibly corrupt organisation that have very little chance of making their decision stick. Ridiculous.

No chance are they actually banning Citeh for 2 seasons. They'll appeal and it will end up being a much, much more lenient sentence.

This is just to spook everyone else and cause Citeh some annoyance. At the end of the day they have the full financial might of an oil state behind them and are part of said states international marketing and propaganda. They're going to spend money and they're going to keep finding ways to do so.

We will be if we win it, not if we lose though.

Yeah, Man City are still allowed to win the Carabao Cup and unless you win it you don't get a European place so makes no difference for us.

Huge pet hate - it's Sheffield United.

Would be awesome if this gets upheld, although I imagine it won't.  Will go on for ages in any case.

Well they have. It’s a independent court that ‘could’ overturn. UEFA have decided.
