Are you struggling to get in the 'black' financially? I used similar tactics to CS1 and put loads of specialised industry, but with a small town I'm struggling to get there. I'm OK money wise cos of the bonuses on levelling up, but I always try to get sustainable asap. The costs for upkeep of any power generation except wind and coal seem very steep at the moment.

Yes I'm struggling to get sustainable too, and it's something that normally was important to me. Just trying to learn the game slowly and not go too far and then have regrets 😅 my population just cracked 4k and I'm just dabbling in farms and mining

Fair few games on the Xmas list (Lies of P, Lords of the Fallen, Spiderman 2, Like a Dragon: Gaiden, Wo Long) so I'm playing Dark Souls 3 at the minute to fill the time. I've done DS1, Bloodborne, Sekiro & Elden Ring but never got round to DS2 or 3 for some reason.

I just got platinum on Spiderman 2. I liked it a lot,but i think i am one of the few that enjoyed the 2018 Spiderman more. I liked having more gadgets like you did there, and not having only four to chose from like it is in Spiderman 2. The traversal, and "flying" across the city was an upgrade in this one,and i like the windtunnels, combined with the spiderwing.

I think they could spread the bossfights more out. Many times if felt like huors of normal enemies, then three bossfights in a row,and with up to four phases. I didnt like the stealth MJ missions in the 2018 Spiderman, and now it was even more of them. And playing as that girl Miles is into felt meaningless, and something i just wanted done as quick as possible. I think it was a bit overkill to be playing as five different persons in the game. I am so old that i am not familliar with Miles Morales as Spiderman,of all the multivers-thing. I think that is why i liked the first one more. There were enemies like Kingpin,Vulture,Electro,Doc Ock,Shocker, and things i had a relation to when reading Spiderman as a kid.

When Venom showed up in the Spiderman Universe i had stopped reading it,and fell off. And it has evolved so much, that many parts of this story went over my head, and i had to look it up on Youtube. The ending of the Spiderbot sidemission, and Miles`s mums new flame, and his daughter who i now understand is a kind of female spiderman.

I guess people that are updated on the Spiderman universe will get a lot more out of it than i did,and have a different view on it,and i understand Insomniac arent making these games for 50 year old farts like me exclusively.

Still looking forward to the DLC that seem to contain Chameleon as a villain.

And Insomniac has now said they concider Miles Morales as the "main Spiderman",and the ending of this game gave strong pointers to Peter Parker letting Miles take over. So the next game will be Miles, and that Spidergirl i guess.

Still will be playing that one to i guess :)

If i should rate Spiderman2 i would give 8 out of 10

Mostly Robocop Rogue City on the PS5 at the moment.

It's a very good game, and if you're a fan of the OG movies then it very quickly becomes a **** glorious game.

They absolutely nail being Robocop.

I'm switching between the Re2 remake and Ff16 on the portal*

Question for those who played it - does Mr x make the remake better or worse? I'm torn on him, he obviously gets the adrenaline racing like few other enemies in games but at the same time he takes away the leisurely exploration of the excellently designed police station, I've played it before so kind of know my way around but I messed up this leon playthrough and activated him before I'd done everything, he speeds the game up, I did it in 5 hours which isn't that fast but at the same time probably at least 30 mins to maybe an hour quicker than I would have done without him

* in the last 2 weeks the wife has started watching more TV downstairs when the kids are in bed so I've starting using the portal more, it doesn't work in bed as my Internet isn't good enough but downstairs it's bear perfect, it's a brilliant piece of kit

Mr X is great, he adds loads of tension to the game and can put you in scenarios that make you need to think on your feet quickly. Plus once you learn the game to a great enough degree you can actually 'game' him iirc, knowing where he appears when etc.

Yeah he is actually easy enough to avoid if you walk rather than run

It's all memory coming back to me as I play it again, Leon you do everything apart from the library before you go to the courtyard, the main thing is you have to kill the 2 lickers in front of the armory and I didn't

I also thought that round 2 played a lot more on what you did in round 1 but I'm doing the same things, for some reason I thought the game was cleverer than that and had you doing different puzzles

Like a Dragon Gaiden

It's a nice little spinoff to plug the gap between 7 & 8. It's relatively short, and as such the story is a lot more "to the point". If you like the Yakuza games but don't fancy jumping into a full one (the main titles are quite lengthy), I recommend this.

Wife brought me COD MW3 for Christmas so I'll give the zombies a go at some point today.  No point going for online multiplayer because my reactions are significantly slower than the pre-teens who generally fill the lobbies!

Play the various game modes, stay away from death match and the tags game whatever it's called but play domination and do the objectives, you'll get enough points to make it interesting

It's digital only isn't it?

One day I'll get it but it I can't trade it I won't be paying more than £20 for it

Yeah digital only sadly.

I only picked it up because I had some PlayStation credit and it's on the January sale at a very slight discount and I fancied a new high end action game.

It is very good, if very... beholden to its conceits in a way that isn't as revelatory as it thinks it is. For example you have a sequence where they take the concept of a writer trapped in a nightmare of their own creation and use it to solve puzzles that the game clearly thinks is really clever but it's actually a bit meh. And that appears to be the entire plot really, creepy Twin Peaks Pacific Northwest town is taken over by unexplained phenomenon that is related to the writing of a missing horror writer and there's other weird shit going on too. Then chuck in classic Remedy nonsense - loads of odd references to Finnish culture and people, loads of video sequences, loads of meshing video over scenes in creepy or interesting ways, loads of weird humour, loads of original music.

Fundamentally it's very good though. The graphics are really exceptional, the gameplay is solid, the sound is great, the atmosphere is thick and creepy and weird and 'off' in all the best ways, the presentation is excellent, the performances are great (or extremely knowingly bad...) in all the best ways.

Its also got a bunch of callbacks to Control, which is a nice touch and seems to only cement the concept of a Remedy Game Universe, which is fun.

Didn't play control, played maybe 2 hours of quantum break, loved the 1st AW though which means they've got enough in the bank to make me want to play this, loved MP too but that's almost a given - and I'd love to know what the future of that series is, sure I heard somewhere AW2 hasn't sold well despite the reviews which because I'm old I'd blame on the digital only factor, wouldn't mind if the financial hit plays their hand in to making a new MP game
