No doubt helped by Blackburn being shite, but the first half display was a good one and we took the two decent chances we had. Absolutely cracking goal by Gabby, Heskeys a bit lucky and Bent's was a typical Bent goal. Well done - more points now than I thought we'd have after six games. villianusa Posted August 20, 2011 Share Posted August 20, 2011 Think for the first time I gave MOTM to Petrov; , involved in a lot of the play, he worked hard all game and lasted 90 minutes. Delph was a very close 2nd. Played well against a decent Blackburn team who were poor on the day. Credit to the players who made it that way. We missed Gabby's energy at the start of the second half and it cost us only with some poor defending and good attackign play from Blackburn. You can only beat what's in front of you and we did that well and scored 3 goals to boot. Nice cameo from Bannan once he came on. Dreadful atmosphere though and woeful attendance of 32k. Hopefully if we get on a run with these easy fixtures more fans will come back.
