Spoony
Yeah that's nice. Cue the "er mah gerrrrd. it's just a black shirt with a badge on it. What do kit designers get paid for?!" posts I thought it was dark green? Hence the green and pleasant land tagline. Our is it confirmed black? Edit: seems it is black. Why the green and pleasant stuff then? I'd have preferred very dark British racing green shirt if I'm honest It's a line from Jerusalem, ennit? Aye, that it is
Ingram85
I know that you silly goof Just that today's marketing is a bit y'know, 'itv' ish so I thought there may have been a link between the colour of the shirt and the colour stated in the tagline plus the grass and trees in the background. I think I was thinking too literal.
villa4europe
the england shirt is a strange one, its not a nike template for a start and with it being black its hard to pick out the detailing (like this on the holland shirt below) im not convinced by it yet, i think like all the other nike shirts so far it looks cheap but certainly wont be
Marka Ragnos Posted March 29, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted March 29, 2015 them shorts! Makes me think of pottery on a pottery wheel or oranges scored on a lathe. The new "leaked" England away shirt... Very nice! Me like. Silly background. Yeah that's nice. Cue the "er mah gerrrrd. it's just a black shirt with a badge on it. dont_do_it_doug.
I absolutely love the "irony" of it. It's a really clever bit of marketing. It did it's job didn't it!
Marka Ragnos Posted April 1, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted April 1, 2015 Has England ever worn black? It's strictly fashion here, right? I can't think of any big connection to national identity/regalia, etc etc.

islingtonclaret
Has England ever worn black? It's strictly fashion here, right? I can't think of any big connection to national identity/regalia, etc etc. I have the very dark blue one from a few seasons back. I am going to assume that the FA would seriously have a problem with a team wearing black considering referees still mostly wear black.

We also had the 1996 'looks great with jeans' grey kit (shame Southgate missed that pen..... ) I don't mind what we wear as an away kit to be honest - the fake black one earlier in the thread looks alright to me (although wouldn't buy one personally!) El Zen
Just noticed the St Georges flag in AC's crest, Same as Barcelona. Both Founded by Englishmen! St. George is the patron saint of Catalunya as well, and the flag of Milan happens to be identical to England's. Now Englishmen were involved in founding both clubs but that's not why the cross is in their respective badges.
