The_Steve
If you read Lambert's quotes in full he's actually very complimentary but phrases it in a way that will motivate Grealish. It's basic man management.
DCJonah
Playing him when he deserves it would be better man management.
The_Steve
Grealish is better served as an impact sub right now. With time, he'll be starting I'm sure.
VillakevBromsgrove
sub again today then, hopefully come on later and produce the goods.

Can't imagine the odd minutes every so often are helping him develop much.
Brumstopdogs
Grealish on the bench again today!
Jay.P.A
He needs to be an impact sub. He might not last a whole game, and it really does make sense to bring him on in the later stages of the game when defenders are tired and may make mistakes. Enda
Absolutely deserves a start. No question. If he's crap, lesson learned. But absolutely he's earned a go.
The_Steve
It's a balancing act. One bad performance when he starts could hinder his confidence. He plays with freedom because he's able to impact the game more from the bench.

Agree with this - the likes of Weimann play mediocre week in and week out. Let's see what this lad is made of.
foreveryoung
He is not an impact sub, he has proved this. Be better starting with him and bringing him off if he tires or has a poor performance.

He isn't? Does he make an IMPACT when he comes on as a SUB?
romavillan Posted January 1, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted January 1, 2015 Giving him 30 minutes from the bench (posh seats) I think is enough for him at the moment. Although I too would like to see him start soon, but I'd also like him to play behind a front 2, or as part of a fluid 3 behind Benteke...
Butterfingers
Just looking at todays line up, I would love to see Grealish & Cole start ahead of Weiman & Gabby, Would I be brave enough to do this in Lamberts shoes? Probably not.
DCJonah
So what did gabby or weimman do that grealish couldn't in that half?
Stevo985 Posted January 1, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted January 1, 2015 Can't imagine the odd minutes every so often are helping him develop much. Well he appears to be getting better every time he plays, so I'm not sure that's true. I would have liked to see him start today though. Definitely need him or Cole in the second half. Stevo985 Posted January 1, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted January 1, 2015 That being said, his inconsistency is probably the reason he isn't being used as a starter yet. He was pants when he came on today.
PaulC
We can't expect him to make an impact every time he comes on. Wish he would use his left foot more though!
ROTTERDAM1982
He was better than Gabby Weimann and Cleverley. That is our problem, hes not ready to be a 1st teamer yet, but he is better than the players in front of him.
Dr_Pangloss
Showed some nice flashes but also showed that his decision making is poor and his execution isn't quite there, but you have to love his confidence, with the right coaching he could turn out to be a pretty decent player for us.
