It will be interesting to see what Dortmund do with the Dembele money. A genuine replacement for the young Frenchman and some cover for the eternally injured Reus would be a start.

Julian Draxler?

Or is he too old for them at 23 ? :D

Sign a good keeper and some decent defenders. They don't need anymore attackers.

Dortmund are exactly like Liverpool.

Said it before but for an elite team Dortmund give away some ridiculous goals over the course of a season.

True, Sokratis Papastathopoulos seems to drift off into a different world (probably Santorini) on the odd occasion and Bartra is a bit lightweight. They really should have at least replaced Hummels  like for like, mind you they weren't brilliant defensively with him around, but were better than now IMO.

Signing yarmalenko by the looks of it

theyve signed omer toprak for CB and a youngster from PSG called zagadou, they then have passlack coming through at RB

theyre one of several big teams who need a better keeper

The thing about them is that they continually play a high line, leaving them exposed at the back and susceptible to counter attacks.

This is one of the reasons why we take so many people to watch them, as there are almost always goals in their games.

Defence is seemingly an afterthought for many German teams these days. Something you'd never have thought possible back in the days of West German 'efficiency'.

Very little chance of him going to Dortmund he grew up in Gelsenkirchen and is a Schalke fan/former player, there would probably be riots if he did that, I would also say similar for Ozil who came through the same system.

Also, Chris, Embolo is back in with the under 23s but I imagine they will be playing him after the international break.

Sokratis is awful. I still remember last season when he had the ball by the halfway line and just passed it to Mbappe who ran through and scored. They are just not solid enough in the crunch games imo, would anyone back them to go to Munich and keep a clean sheet?

Most important thing was keeping Aubameyang as there's 25 goals right there. Pulisic can step up a level this season I'm sure and hopefully Reus can stay fit for five minutes.

Trouble with Yarmolenko is the other ukraine guy has done little since he left Ukraine, did nothing at Sevilla and don't think he's made much impact at Schalke either although Steve would probably give a better precis.

Toprak is o.k in the air but pretty average in many other aspects, bit like Johnathan Tar still at Leverkusen who is stupidly overrated for his actual ability.

With the money Dortmund have they should be targeting players like Gilk at Monaco or Manolas at Roma. These are good CBs in their mid to late 20s. Guess wages would be an issue.

Timo Horn would be a good keeper for them.

Konopylanka had a difficult season last year because the manager didn't like him, this is where the sporting director doesn't work or benefit teams if they have different mindsets. However, this year the new Schalke manager likes him, and he is playing more and scoring, so hopefully he will do well.

Jonathan Tah is a brilliant defender in the making, saw him play for Dusseldorf a few years ago and he was an absolute monster!.

Dortmund don't have a money issue, they are very wealthy it's not like it was 10+ years ago, they, Leipzig and Bayern have more money than anyone  as they are on the stock market.

Timo Horn should look to leave, or Bernd Leno, but there are so many good goalies in that league, Fahrmann at Schalke is great too.

Saw most of this, what a great goal by Werner on the break, surely Germany's starting striker at the World cup.

Leipzig made some good signings like Augustine and Bruma, should be strong again. Hamburg will have a more comfortable season aswell than usual, were pretty solid at 0-0.

Good use of VAR in overturning the penalty decision.

Yeh, another terrible dive from Werner, he definitely has something of the Jurgen about him. Not sure if he will be the starting striker (I would have him personally), but Low isn't sold on him just yet I think.

Hamburg should be safe, but has been said many times in the past and they love to leave it til the last minute to secure it! Don't think Schalke have a fit striker for tomorrow, so should be another fun game to watch...

Yes was annoyed at the time by it but was the decision. Keita going to be a great signing for Liverpool. Meanwhile Bayern get beat
