theunderstudy
Our batting is so bad that if we win the toss we still wouldnt bat
bannedfromHandV
Not looking like a good decision at the moment, ball / wicket not doing anything
sidcow Posted June 10, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted June 10, 2022 I actually think it's our bowling attack which is the real problem. Still relying on ageing fast bowlers with nothing much new coming through and average at best spinners.

bannedfromHandV
No Williamson and de grandhomme in the batting lineup so this could go south for NZ quickly potentially.

Rodders
Having put them in to bat, 135/2 from only 30 overs is ... sub optimal. So far I guess. Who knows, maybe there's another Broad special coming up
Rodders
Or maybe not will be lucky to get them below 500 by the looks of things. Big day coming up tomorrow

Big day coming up tomorrow Either they'll go on for that kind of number then England will go and do similar with and inevitable draw. Or more likely they will do the same and England are skittled for about 200 twice.
AVFC_Hitz
I will probably do a poo that looks like skittles.
bannedfromHandV
NZ are taking the piss here, run rate is out of control and has been throughout. Shockingly poor bowling and fielding, if we’d taken the catches presented to us this innings would have been over ages ago, same old problems.
bannedfromHandV
What a difference a week makes. Last week Stuart Broad was taking wickets at Lords in an England win and buzzing about Forest getting promoted. Fast forward a week and he’s toiling away at Trent Bridge (with the rest of his teammates) and his beloved pub has gone up in smoke!
OutByEaster? Posted June 11, 2022 Moderator Share Posted June 11, 2022 So, if New Zealand bat out the day and declare at maybe 600-650, we'll just roll out our traditional steely English resolve, that stoic batting stubbornness associated with our modern test team, founded on sound technique and good temperament, and we'll just bat this one out right? Right?
veloman
If this England performance is not bad enough - what the hell happened to Warwicks last night !!!

Right? Well, it’s a pretty flat wicket and NZ have found it really easy to score runs so it will be an indictment of the England team if we do go and post a shit score. PaulC
Its at times like these where your spinner needs to a quality spinner. Easy wicket, minimal swing, fast outfield makes it even more a bonkers decision that we bowled first.
sidcow Posted June 11, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted June 11, 2022 Would be nice when we finally get in if our openers can get more than about 10-20 each.
